Easier than I thought! September 21, 2008 I must admit that cleaning my sensor was a nerve racking thought! However, I just read the easy to follow instructions and successfully cleaned my sensor. I now have dust free images again! Thanks
Nice product September 9, 2008 Overall, a very good product and well priced. Probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to have included some lint free gloves at a higher price. I was a bit surprised to find that you have to construct your own sensor cleaning wands, although there is a pre-constructed one to use as an example.
Not very good presentation August 14, 2008 I expected this product to come in a box so I can at least store it after I use it. Came in just a plastic bag (inside the brown shipping box), kind of disapointing. Other that that I still have to try it so I can talk about how it works.
Gotta Have This.... August 7, 2008 When I first bought my Rebel XT, I never thought this could happen to me but it DID! Somehow I got something on my sensor and it smeared. I wanted the dust spots gone. I was terrified. I just knew that my sensor was history and that my camera had just become a very expensive paper weight. I went ahead and bought this kit and used it. WOW!!!! The first pass with the wand and cleaner and the smear was almost undetectable. I used several pec pads to make sure that all of WHATEVER that was, was gone for good. I went outside and took a few photos of the sky at f22 and loaded them on my computer and it was clean. The smear and dust spots were gone. My heart finally started beating again. I wish I had bought this kit sooner becasue my camera was out of commission too long. I was starting to have withdrawls. I would set it on my desk and stare at it longingly....
Buy this kit and keep it handy. But as you have read, DO NOT clean your sensor unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. There are better uses for your camera other than a paper weight. Use the rocket blower, it works great and puts out a powerful stream of air.
I thank Curt at Micro-Tools for a great product and fast service. Oh, and thanks for the candy, it is a nice touch. Thomas Gentry, Texas.
Spots out! May 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although I was a little nervous at the beginning, the procedure was not as difficult as I thought it could be. The kit is quite complete and I was able to clean the sensor and remove the dust in the walls of the chamber. The air blower is powerful, you may not want to include it in your carry on bag because of its size, unless you have spare in some of your lens compartment. I am happy again now that I can take pictures to the sky being confident that the old ugly spots are away. Definitely recommended.
