Rotate September 24, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Screen is bright and overall the controls seem easy to use. Digital picture frames in general are a great way to get pictures out of the camera and into a environment where people can see them and enjoy them. Overall I am happy with this product but I was surprised by one omission. There is no way to rotate (permanently) an image within the picture frame. If you rotate your camera to take a picture you will need to rotate it back using the camera or other software to get it oriented properly. Not a big deal, but I bought the frame for someone for whom this will be challenging. Perhaps not a flaw, but an omission to be aware of.
A Good Digital Frame September 17, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this frame as a present for my mother in law. I wanted it to be fairly easy to use and nice to look at. My husband and I "played" with it prior to giving it to her to see how it worked and to get it set up. I was impressed with the frame and was not sorry I chose this one. If you are a digital photo buff or expert, I am not sure this would be satisfactory or not,...But if you are a normal consumer, I think you will be more than happy with the quality of the picture. We did not attempt to alter the aspect ratio, so the frame cuts off a little bit of your picture. You also need to pre-rotate a photo which was shot on its side-- however, the frame does have the capability of pausing the image and then rotating it (to view it once the correct way). It was easy to use in that you can take the memory from your camera, pop it in, turn it on, and voila! A slideshow appears. This frame can also play MP3 files. We put one song on it. We found that the songs we had purchased on iTunes did not work because they are MP4s and are protected. You need to have songs from CDs you own which have been converted into MP3s, or just whatever MP3s you may happen to have. One thing that I found slightly misleading was that the box seems to indicate it comes with an interchangeable frame and that perhaps the box included those other frames. It does not. You get the one black-boarder frame, and it looks very sleek and modern. That was fine with me, but I did wonder why the box was printed as it was. This frame does come with a tiny remote control, which is pretty cool. It also came with a USB cable. At any rate, I think most people will really love this frame. We just gave it to my mother in law this weekend and she really loved it too. Knock on wood, there were no defects with it that we could see -- everything seemed to work just as it should! My husband and I liked it so much we hope to get one of our own soon, and we would not hestiate to get this brand/model again.
It's okay. September 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product isn't bad, but it isn't quite what I expected. First of all, though the screen is 7", that's a diagonal measurement (which I knew), and I hadn't expected it to be so wide and short. I'd previously gotten a different 7" frame that looked bigger in comparison.
As far as picture clarity goes, it's pretty good. Could be better, but for the money it's okay.
Another note: I wanted to return this and get a bigger one, but since you're actually buying from a third party via Amazon, they charge you a 15% restocking fee, plus the shipping. I'd advise anyone looking into this product to see if you can find it in a store first, so you know what it looks like before you buy it from Amazon. This is the main reason it's only 3 stars rather than 4.
Beautiful color, good brightness, poor resolution, hard to use September 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: Great color, good brightness, highly viewable from different angles, nice transition effects and timing options. Support for many different memory media (CompactFlash, Memory Stick, XD and Secure Digital/MMC). Tiny remote is handy and fits in the CompactFlash slot when not in use.
Cons: Poor resolution (480x234) is grainy at close range. Aspect ratio is difficult to handle; pictures have to be cropped carefully before display on the device and it does not come with any software to help. Finally, the USB connection is flaky (worked about 2/3 of the time for me) so you'll have issues if you try to use it as a cardreader or you try to copy pictures to the built-in memory on the device.
With all that said, if you're using your own memory card and you're willing to crop to the 480x234 aspect ratio, it's a great looking device and a real conversation starter.
Not worth the price September 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
the seller is fine. the problem is that this the instructions with the frame are non existant and it's very hard to figure out how to use
