Excellent tripod. Pretty compact when folded. Extremely quick setup which is a huge plus when you travel.

5 out of 5 stars compact, stylish, and practical.   April 21, 2008
Great little product that is easy to setup and use. Excellent workmanship and style. My HG10 can easily be added or removed from the tripod in seconds. The controls are intuitive, ergonomic, and ruggedly designed.

This is a great value for a compact yet solid tripod.

1 out of 5 stars A very weak Tripod   March 28, 2008

I ordered this tripod as an extra however, The older one was better to handle my camera! even it's from 10 years ago.
What I noticed is that the tripod head is really weak and can't do what it suppose to.. I wish that I didn't order this one, so if you're looking for a tripod do not buy this and good luck in your purchase!

5 out of 5 stars Compact, light and easy to use   March 6, 2008
I am glad that after lots of research I finally found something that perfectly suits my requirements.
I mostly do landscape photography, so I wanted a tripod that would be small and light weight enough that could be carried wherever needed. I hate using heavy and BIG tripod that are a burden on the shoulders.
This tripod is made of light weight aluminum, has a hybrid ball and socket head which can accommodate most cameras and camcorders. It also has a bubble level. Folding and extending is quick too. When fully extended, it reached little over 4 feet.
The build quality is excellent and the stability is also good.
It costs little more than the competitors like Slick, etc, but then...quality comes at a a price!

4 out of 5 stars Good tripod for travel.   February 13, 2008

The best thing about this tripod is its size and weight. Once collapsed, I can easily fit it into my camera bag(Canon 200EG). It can lie flat in most backpack as well so it's definitely ideal for travel.

Quality build and solid legs are definitely a plus. The height of the tripod could be an issue for most people. The load capacity is not great but usable for a Canon Rebel XTi with a 28mm-105mm lens. You might have to push hard on the grip to lock it real good. XTi with the 70-300mm lens is definitely too heavy for this tripod, in that case, I use it as a monopod. The vertical column(when fully extended) does not lock very well sometime mostly due to camera weight, I'm sure point and shoot and camcorder shouldn't have problem like this. I expect all this problem when I purchase the tripod given the size and load capacity and at this price, it's a good tripod to have for travel.
