A simple, very effective flash meter that takes both incident and reflected light measurements. Accuracy is to + or - 1/3rd of a stop with range at 100 ISO from F2 to F32 in one third of a stop increments.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth purchasing   December 20, 2007

I am very new to the world of video and photography. Therefore, I give this product 2 stars because it may be user error. But, I am not getting this device work at all. I work with a professional photographer that tried to assist me and she had no luck. The battery cover does not fit once a battery is placed in the device. That is a very poor design. This is certainly not worth $50.00. This is the cheapest light meter I could find. So I guess I got what a paid for...cheap.

If you absolutely cannot afford a more expensive flash meter, then it may work ok for you. After a few months, I have to try two or three times because it will just say the f stop is at max number. After a few readings it will drop to f8 or whatever the reading really is. After I get a reading, I have to use my histogram to get good exposure. This meter always reads a few stops low. It is worth maybe 30 bucks, not 50 or 60. From what I have seen, this is the cheapest meter available. If you are going to spend money on strobes, splurge for a better meter.

1 out of 5 stars Battery won't fit   October 18, 2007

Meter works fine and easy to use but the battery compartment is to small.
It uses a standard 9 volt dry cell and after you put the battery in the meter you can NOT put the cover back on the case. I got Mine From Adorama Camera through Amazon and when I called their customer service rep and explained the problem he told me other people had the same problem that I had he E-Mailed me me a return UPS shipping lable while I was on the phone with him and promised me a full refund including any and all shipping and handling charges.
All in All The meter is Junk (Quote from Adorama customer service, not my discription) but the Dealer promply took care of the problem and satisified me fully with no problems at all
