We have two of these lamps for our own use and my mother who is 82 had expressed interest in getting one since she does alot of close work. She is so pleased with this lamp as are we with ours at home. Quality product and so easy to assemble.
 Ballast has blown out - do not buy this product May 5, 2008
The Ballast has blown out for this lamp with a loud Buzzzztttt. It does not look simple to replace nor should it have to be replaced after only 9 months of use. As this lamp is inexpensive, and I do not have the original packing materials, I am just going to throw this out and buy a better built lamp for my home office. I believe it would be much more trouble tr try to get it fixed than it's worth.

Bought this in good faith and after a couple of months it just quit. DON'T SPEND YOU MONEY ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great for reading February 26, 2008
The purchase of this lamp is my second purchase and my husband and I both prefer this type lighting for reading. I need a third one for my bedroom now.

I got a desk one as a gift over a year ago and it was really nice and helpful so when I wanted a gift for a friend I got her one she loves it. She says it is like having the sun shine in her house.
