Amazon.com Product Description
The Joby Gorillapod makes taking digital photos more fun than ever. Designed with self-timer photography in mind, the Gorillapod lets you mount your camera just about anywhere you want so that you can include everyone in your automatic shots. All you need to do is use the universal 1/4-20 screw to attach your camera to the standard tripod mount, then wrap the three flexible segmented legs securely to a nearby tree branch, fence, park bench, or anything else that's convenient. Say goodbye to holding your camera at arm's length to take a photo of yourself and your friends--now you can be free to pose however you like! Durable and innovative, the Gorillapod weighs just 1.6 ounces, or 45 grams, and can support cameras weighing up to 12.5 ounces, or 335 grams. Measuring just under six inches in length, the Gorillapod fits easily into any purse, backpack, or even jacket pocket.

Awesome Product Keep Finding uses for it November 11, 2008 Just got this as a gift from my Girlfriend for my birthday, what a cool gadget!!! I keep coming up with uses for it (like to mount my iPhone in the car so I Can see the screen while driving). Just a well made product as well, solid construction!
Legs work great, camera hold, not so much November 9, 2008 The legs work great and stay in place, however the camera mount constantly flops over, making the tri-pod rather useless without keeping a hand on the camera. From other good reviews, I'm thinking maybe I just got a fluke.
Limited use but does work fairly well when needed November 2, 2008 Easily adjustable, sturdy, amazing grip onto anything. Compact, light, good to carry for those strange times you want to make a tripod out of a tree, counter, chair...
Only problem is the screw lock loosens with the weight of my D700 and small lens. It needs to be not be able to rotate and the grip section against the camera needs to be tackier. Makes you plan tot set up better to avoid camera taking a slow downward turn while the 'pod hangs on just fine.
Gorillapod October 28, 2008 Great little gadget! Just make sure you unscrew the extra screw so it will fit straight onto your camera if the screw is too big. It has this extra screw that takes up extra space and you may have to remove it. I felt like an idiot when the camera store guy showed me this.
Grips anything October 24, 2008 I added posts (available in camera stores) to these gorilla pods and used them to hook pro strobes to temporary walls at a trade show. They worked great under considerable stress (walls being bumped often). Highly recommend them!
