4 out of 5 stars Pleasant Surprise...   October 9, 2008

I had originally ordered what I thought was the Carbonlite 10 with a single handled head and rubber balled / spiked feet, but what I received was the tripod you see here. My biggest concern was the height factor with the center column down and they are both the same. The reviews of the other tripod did not like the head that came with the carbon sticks, but I have no problems at all with the dual handled version that came with the Carbonlite 3 sticks. It holds my Nikon with a 75-300mm and lens hood steady as a rock. The tripod legs seem fine and have 3 angled settings to choose from. However one of the latches for the legs isn't releasing the leg like the others are, but Davis & Sanford provide tools to adjust them. The tools are located in the inside zippered pocket of the provided black canvas bag with shoulder strap. The case is surprisingly nice compared to other free cases I have received for tripods costing much more than this one. All and all I'm pretty satisfied so far...
