Amazon.com Product Description
The Joby Gorillapod makes taking digital photos more fun than ever. Designed with self-timer photography in mind, the Gorillapod lets you mount your camera just about anywhere you want so that you can include everyone in your automatic shots. All you need to do is use the universal 1/4-20 screw to attach your camera to the standard tripod mount, then wrap the three flexible segmented legs securely to a nearby tree branch, fence, park bench, or anything else that's convenient. Say goodbye to holding your camera at arm's length to take a photo of yourself and your friends--now you can be free to pose however you like! Durable and innovative, the Gorillapod weighs just 1.6 ounces, or 45 grams, and can support cameras weighing up to 12.5 ounces, or 335 grams. Measuring just under six inches in length, the Gorillapod fits easily into any purse, backpack, or even jacket pocket.
Product Description The Joby Gorillapod firmly secures your camera to just about anything - anywhere and everywhere! Unlike traditional tripods, Gorillapods do not require a level or elevated surface for you to take the perfect shot. Each Gorillapod is made up of 30 or more fully articulating ball-and-socket joints. You can bend and twist them into any shape, and they'll always keep your camera steady!Soft rings and rubberized feet prevent your Gorillapod from slipping in even the toughest environments.

Love it October 11, 2008 Will be perfect. Is strong enough to hold camera on anything - basically grips like fingers.
Awesome October 11, 2008 This thing is great, you can wrap it around anything a railing, fence, the back of a chair,or just use it as a normal tripod.Worth every penny.
Great for travel October 6, 2008 Bought this before going on a trip to Germany hoping it would be stable enough for my 30D paired with a 70-200 2.8L IS lens. Setting it up as a tripod is definitely not enough to support the weight (although I assumed it wouldn't); the legs would buckle and the whole thing would collapse. However, when secured to the top of a railing, the head held up just fine. With all the other lens I have the pod works amazingly well; I even figured out how to set it up vertically to get some interesting ground shots. Highly recommended!
Works with SLR October 5, 2008 I own Canon 30D and Canon 24-105mm f/4 L IS Lens so I decided to buy GP3 (slr zoom) version of this pod. Works better than I expected... this pod is stable enough to handle my camera (30D with my lens weight is about 1,4 Kg), I'm taking it often with me, good for taking pictures in nature without need to take my regular tripod.
Maybe it works also as it's shown at pictures, like mounted on tree or telephone post, but I love my 30D tooooo much to try it ;)
Gorrila pod review September 30, 2008 This is a great product. Make sure you go by the model recommendations on the joby website. I had a Canon A 620 and the basic Gorillapod cannot take the weight of this heavy camera (even though its not an SLR), so I had to go for the gorrilapod SLR. Works great, can be easily wound around any support. I also tried to use it on a fixed support on a small cement mound near the Eifell tower and works well that way too. Make sure you wrap the legs around real tight. I would recommend this product.
