Under the hood, the Treo 750 features the Windows Mobile 5 operating system and 60 MB of internal memory. The design retains the same popular form factor and QWERTY keyboard as other Treo phones, but with a few subtle, yet significant, changes. The external antenna has been tucked away, and the unit's camera has been dramatically upgraded to 1.3 megapixels. The 750 has been on a diet too--weighing in at only 5.40 ounces, the 750 is one of the lightest Treo phones ever released. On top of the unit you'll find an expansion slot for SD and MMC-based memory cards, and there's also an infrared port here for line-of-sight data transfers, as well as a handy switch for turning off the phone's ringer. Below the amazingly clear 240 x 240 color touch screen, you'll find a five-way navigator that controls most of the phone's menus and operating system functions, while quick application buttons on either side of the navigator will get you to your favorite applications in a snap. The left side of the unit features a volume up/down toggle plus a handy user-customizable button that can be assigned to any phone or PDA function. The rear of the Treo 750 houses a loudspeaker, as well as the camera unit. A touch-screen stylus can be tucked away on the right side of the phone. Meanwhile, a combined charging, data, and accessory attachment port is housed on the bottom of the unit, as is a standard 2.5 mm stereo headset jack. Calling and PDA Features
All of the Treo 750's phone and PDA functions are designed to provide an integrated, seamless experience. For instance, you can type in the name or initials of a contact on the keypad to dial them. Or, use the touch-screen and stylus to copy information from an email and quickly paste it into another email or text message. You can even use Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile, a feature that combines email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes into a single application. Staying productive on the road is made possible by the Microsoft Office Mobile suite, which includes Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile. Meanwhile, the File Explorer application makes it easy to browse the files on your Treo 750. All of the latest phone features folks expect are built-in, too, like a handsfree speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones, a vibrate mode and picture caller ID. The 750 comes stock with unique ringtones built right into the unit, and more ringtones can be downloaded from Cingular Wireless' MEdia Net service. The capacity of the unit's address book is only limited by the amount of internal and expansion memory available. Use the Treo 750's Bluetooth capability to wirelessly sync your contacts with your PC. Headsets, car kits and other wireless peripherals can also be paired with the unit via Bluetooth. The device fully supports MMS messaging for rapid exchange of pictures, text and video via Cingular's instant messaging system. The Treo 750's Web browser supports full-size web pages, and you can enter secure pages with 128-bit SSL encryption. POP3 email accounts provided by SBC, BellSouth, Yahoo, Earthlink, Comcast and AT&T Worldnet are all compatible with the 750's email client application. IMAP and Exchange-based email systems are also supported, and you can view photos, HTML, Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments. With WCDMA/UMTS support built right into the phone, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin.  Great Phone in every category April 27, 2008
I had a Treo 650 2 years ago (ran over it with my car), then went with the Moto Q a year ago (wish I had ran it over with my car). I could not wait to get rid of my Moto Q. Now (4/2008) I have the Treo 750. I'll update this review by Jan '09, but for now this phone is perfect.
I have seen no issues with battery life...but then I don't talk on the phone for more than about 20 minutes a day (I have a life). This phone comes with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, & Outlook) so you can save your files on here and then take then with you. Always get the replacement issurance plan with a phone like this.
Some of my associates have BlackBerrys...you need that if every email for you is life or death. If you don't need instant emails, then this is the better of the two phones. I may have seen something in the features that will allow the 750 to receive almost instant emails...I need to figure out all the features.
You will love the way several good devices are combined into one: Phone, Palm Pilot, Music Player, Video Player, Video Camera, Digital Camera, Document Reader, too many more to list here. Basically you can clear out all the handheld gadgets you own and replace them all with the Treo 750.
My only issue is that Palm should send you an instructional DVD with this phone covering all of the features. The user booklet that comes with the phone is almost useless. You will have to take a sojourn from life to become familiar with all the features. But ATT customer service is just a 1-800 call or a text message away and they are very customer oriented.

I'm an attorney who has had this phone for almost one year (June 2007) and I'm ready to get rid of it. It does not play well with others. I had a palm for years which synced my calendar/to dos, etc. with my office. When palm switched to microsoft, the calendar only syncs from the desktop - all data entered on the phone is lost -- all the techs have said that I have to live with this -- not very realistic. It will not sync with my contacts list. It crashes about once or twice each week. My first one was completely broken when sent to me and the replacement has not been much better. It will suddenly not ring so I have missed calls and messages. The battery does not last long (I've turned off the email checking feature - when that was on, I received 3-4 hours of use, with it off, it must be recharged every 2 days -- if you forget and the noises are off to alert you to a low battery - you really lose!) Bottom line is that this is an extremely unsatisfactory "smart" device for the money. The unreliability and inability to work with others cancels out the features I liked (GSM) (PDFs that you can carry with you).

I've had the Treo 750 for about 5 months now. Excellent battery and features. Phone may freeze once in a while which seems to be caused by 3rd party programs e.g. live search but after the novelty of those programs wore off and I deleted them the phone works great. ATT service is great too. I switched from Verizon only because they wouldn't give me any discount on the phone. [...]

I have owned and used numerous phones, pocket pc's, and smart phones over the years and this is arguably the worst phone I have ever come in contact with. Let me be clear about this; it is not only the worst smart phone / pocket pc but the worst PHONE I have ever seen. For starters, you need to do a soft reset on this phone everyday just to have a chance of it working halfway correctly. If I went more than a day without resetting these are just a few of the malfunction I grew accustomed to:
1) Severe system crashes
2) Locking up
3) ringer and overall sound malfunction
4) Would not recognize the data card
5) Would not recognize information on the external card
6) Buttons would change their programming on their own
7) Constantly running sluggish from overused memory
8) Lockup when phone rings
9) Numerous other minor system malfunctions
With severe system crashes, the phone would take about 3 or 4 soft resets before it would work half way right. Even if you did a soft reset a day you could expect, simple lockups that would require a soft reset. and disrupt whatever you are doing. Various times throughout the day you can expect the phone not to recognize the external data card. That means that it would all of a sudden forget that you had a card and anything on it. Most of the time this was cured with a soft reset. Also you could expect at a minimum that every several days the buttons would change their programming on their own. For those of you that don't know about the button programming, yu can program various buttons to control various applications. For instance you can program the side button to control the voice commands. Well you may push the button one time and the media player will come on. Do a soft reset and it will go back to what you programmed it for. But, all of that aside what aggravated me the most and pushed me to discard this phone was the sound function. Very frequently the phone would lose its sound. All of a sudden the sound would just cease to work. This would include the tap sound, the inbox bell, and most importantly the ringer. The worst part about it is that the tro 750 silent function is handled by a switch so this was just unacceptable. When I first purchased the phone and it did this I assumed the switch had been accidentally turned to silent, but don't be fooled folks. This is probably the worst glich of all.
Let me put it in a way everyone can understand. I was under contract so I had to pay full price for a phone to replace the treo. When I was at the AT&T store I thought to myself that I could put the phone on ebay and at least offset the price of the new phone somewhat. Sure enough I got home and treo's were selling on ebay for $200.00 and I could have used the money, I just could not pass on such a sorry piece of technology to another person. So I gave the phone to my six year old child as a toy. It is not hooked up or anything, she just uses it as a fancy calculator.
In my opinion this is the worst piece of technology to come out in years. I would not buy these phones at a yard sell.
Treo 750 problmes w/ Windows February 21, 2008

WINDOWS Mobile 6 Professional running on ATT. GUI look/feel fine, ergonomics fine (read all the positive reviews), but phone has problems w/ autosync, email not updating, freezes. Battery life very poor. I'm an occasional user, mostly use phone commuting to/from work. I'm very unhappy with having to reboot the phone multiple times a day. Upgraded o/s from 5 to 6 with little or no improvement in freezes. I'll wear out the door to the reset button. Fortunately a company phone, so IT will get me a new one to try. Curious to see if a second phone will still encounter all of the o/s issues. Would like to try Palm o/s but that isn't a choice with IT.
