Jabra headset - Good sound, a bit heavy July 25, 2008 PROS: I bought these sets after reading good comments from folks. Headset is pretty nice and sound quality is great as well. It takes getting use to the button on the headset as they are bit fragile.
CONS: The headset is on the heavy side. If you are looking for a lightweight headset this might not be the solution.
In all I was happy with the set, minus my light weight requirement.
Distorted with shoddy connectivity July 22, 2008 These are my first bluetooth headphones so I don't have anything else to compare them with but my experience with these has been quite awful. Right out the box I had connectivity issues with my LG VU. I was able to get around this by soft resetting a few times. Powering both the headphones and the phone off 30 seconds. All seemed well for a few days until the play/forward/pause buttons all seemed to stop working. I was also able to get around that issue by powering both devices off/on as well. The sound from these headphones is pretty terrible. I don't know if it's because bluetooth is a radio signal or not but everything sounds similar to a very low bitrate mp3. Think 64kbs or lower. I owned a pair of sennheiser 650-HD's connected to a tube amp before these so the quality difference is huge. Sound also becomes distorted when you put the headphones at their highest volume level. I was willing to live with the low quality sound of the headphones because I hadn't intended to use them very often but the connectivity issues killed the deal for me. The signal would frequently cut in and out until finally my phone just decided not to detect them any longer despite trying to soft reset.
Not loud enough and the range is not-as-advertised. July 17, 2008 I planned to use these headphones while doing yardwork, including mowing and weed whacking. These headphones do not get loud enough for use in this application. The 30-foot range is, well, it AIN'T!
I won't buy anything like this via mail order again. A hands-on demo would have nixed these without spending the money first.
Jabra + Cell Phone Mp3 = Great Times!!! July 12, 2008 I was looking for a wireless solution to my mp3/bluetooth enabled/cell phone and this seems to be it.
A cell phone and a mp3 player was (is) the perfect marriage of the two devices I use constantly. However, the headset that came with the music bundle from my cell phone provider had severe limitations: they lacked sound quality/volume, (listening to music on my phone was like listen to music on a cheap dollar store FM radio) and the ear plugs always seemed to fall out of my ears during my cardio workouts.
The Jabra has the right price, good sound quality (well, it's not a bose but let's face it--if you were in the market for that type of big ticket item, you wouldn't have taken the time to read my review; $30 gets you clear high trebles and some decent bass), and the behind-the-neck design keeps them in place. The volume could be a little louder on both the music and the phone calls, but since the speakers cover your entire ear, they seem to block out most of the background sounds. Speaking of the size, incredibly its weight is a non-issue. You feel them on, but they seem light due to the ergonomic design. The controls for both the phone calls and the music play are intuitive and easy to learn/use. Also, the bluetooth pairing went through without incident (no wires--definitely a benefit), and the battery life...well, let's just say that my cell phone will run out of battery power before the Jabra will.
All and all, I feel I got my money's worth and then some. Anyone looking for an inexpensive wireless headset for their cell phone (mainly for music, but will handle calls reasonably well too) shouldn't be disappointed. I feel I will be using this headset for some time.
Awesome deal, great headset!! June 27, 2008 I bought this headset after a lot of searching and reading the reviews here on Amazon! I had happy I bought this. First, hats off to Amazon for their on time delivery! This is a great deal. For the price, this headset is really worth every cent. Some have commented on the quality of music through this headset, but I have no complaints. Also, for 35 dollars, we cannot expect BOSE speaker quality sound! Overall, a great deal!!
