Amazon.com Product Description Take your Bluetooth headset experience to new heights with the thoughtfully designed scala-500. The unit comes equipped with all the high-end features and functionalities you would expect from a leading headset, with the addition of revolutionary technology that is designed to cut wind noise.
Easy to wear around your neck or on your belt. Take a closer look. |
An ear-clip and an exclusive eye/sunglasses clip come with the scala-500. Take a closer look. | Equipped with the WindGuard solution, the scala-500 overcomes wind interference significantly better than does any other Bluetooth headset on the market. Whether you're walking the sidewalks of a busy city, or biking or hiking on a windy day, you will appreciate this addition. Click on the demos below to listen to a comparison between headset performance without and with the WindGuard technology (at a wind speed of 9 mph): No WindGuard protection WindGuard and the scala-500 At a hair more than half an ounce, the sleek and stylish scala-500 is one of the smallest and lightest devices available, but it still offers up to nine hours of talk time. An integrated speaker booster provides substantially higher volume capacity than is common in other headsets. Plus, echo-canceling technology alleviates those annoying voice feedback loops that are common with lesser headsets. An exchangeable ear-loop and eye/sunglasses attachment lets you place the headset where it's most convenient, while handy controls on the device allow you to voice dial, as well as to answer, mute, reject, and transfer calls. A charging cradle ships with the scala-500, offering fast recharging of the headset's internal battery. A carry sleeve is included as well, letting you carry the scala-500 on your belt or around your neck. And last but not least, the scala-500 is Bluetooth 1.2 compliant. What's in the Box scala-500 headset, carry sleeve, VersaClip ear/eyeglasses clip, charging cradle, carry lanyard, AC adapter, software, and user's manual.

wash and spin cycle June 19, 2008 This is my second Cardo Systems Scala 500. I inadvertently ran over my first one when it fell out of my pocket and onto the driveway. My current one just went through the wash and spin cycle when I left it in my nursing scrubs. And it still works flawlessly! How's that for good quality? I love this item. Highly recommended. I use it with my iPhone.
It's Just OK May 23, 2008 This is my 3rd bluetooth earpiece and what I have learned is that most earpieces are made for a man's ear. My ears are on the small side and I have yet to find an earpiece that will stay on. This one isn' bad as far as ease of use, easy to charge, sound quality and size. It has a nifty cord to keep it from going astray when you're not using it. It also comes with a holster (another guy-thing I guess) but mine broke the first time I tried to use it and after emailing the seller I got no response as to what to do.
With all that said--it's a decent product, it just didn't work well for me. I'm still looking...
Great for the Price April 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had paid $10 after instant rebate a while back for this headset. I used it with a Motorola A630 initially and then with my Nokia 9300i. People didn't know I was using a headset and I even was able to use this headset on my way to a train late one night on a blustery Chicago evening walking past the Sears Tower - anyone that has walked past the Sears Tower will know how the wind can really whip around and howl out there. That's not to say the person on the other end didn't notice any wind noise at all, but they could hear me and I could hear them as well. This item is durable as well, I had accidentally left it in a pocket and my wife washed AND dryed it before realizing it had been left in my pocket. We thought it would be ruined, but I took and it powered on and connected no problem, I even made a call and again NO PROBLEM! You get some nice accessories with it as well - an eye glass clip, cd and lanyard to hand around your neck. I actually still have this although I haven't been using it I might go back to it because the Scala 700 doesn't seem to work as well.
Finally :) March 26, 2008 Finally found a bluetooth headset that works with my Palm Treo - yay :) I tried 4 others, lots of issues, the main being they wouldn't sinc well with my Palm Treo. This one sinc's 85% of the time, which is a great improvement. It's light, fits well on my ear, especially since I wear glasses, and for the price is well worth it.
So far......the best earpiece, I've had February 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Its so comfortable and easy to set up. Once its in your ear, no need to keep checking, its not going anywhere.
