Windows Mobile 6 adds power to your mobile office with up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars. |
Edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets on your phone, just as you would on your desktop/laptop PC. | Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 updates the Windows Mobile 5 platform with a number of handy features that make searching through email, editing Microsoft Office documents, and staying on top of your most important communications even easier. Emails can now be viewed in their original rich HTML format and now offer the ability to visit embedded links. It also includes Windows Live for Windows Mobile, which provides a full set of Windows Live services, such as the Windows Live Messenger IM application, which now enables you to chat with more than one person at one time or send a file. With Windows Mobile 6, your phone will finally be able to emulate the power and features of your PC's Microsoft Office suite. You'll be able to neatly view, navigate and edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in their original formatting--without affecting tables, images or text--as well as view PowerPoint presentations. - Microsoft Office Word Mobile features include spell-check, Find and Replace commands, bulleted lists, text formatting, and support for tables for the first time.
- With Excel Mobile, you're not just confined to editing charts: with the new Chart Wizard you can create charts quickly and easily.
- PowerPoint Mobile allows you to view the full presentation, rehearse timings, check the order and any live links you may have in your presentation. You can then email comments back to the team or communicate via MSN Messenger for an immediate response.
- After creating or editing a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, you can synchronize it with your PC and it will automatically be converted to the PC version.
All Windows Mobile 6 powered devices include Direct Push Technology for up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. It also offers a set of important device security and management features that include the capability to remotely wipe all data from a device should it be lost or stolen, helping ensure that confidential information remains that way.

Great and then sucks October 3, 2008 This phone is great. It has a large range of features. Can type word documents, email them to yourself format it and be done with a paper. (takes a while, but it's possible.) I hate this phone for 1 reason. I am on my 3rd one. Every 3 months, all my data is lost and the cpu crashes. Go in, get another, repeat. Very annoying. So, get this phone if you have the repair plan. They give me a free one everytime, but I still lose everything.
Decent Smart Phone (Review based on Sprint Network) September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this phone for a little over a month and have been pleased with it thus far. It has Windows Mobile 6.1 on it which has a few updates from version 6.0 such as frequently used programs on the start menu, and threaded text messages. The threaded text messages come in handy when determining context of a message. The keyboard allows for typing primarily with the thumbs and can take a bit of getting used to the tiny size but you get the hang of it after a while. Another drawback of the small keyboard size is the necessity to use the Fn key to enter numbers or special characters.
A USB cable comes with the phone and is useful when transferring files between a computer and the phone. Using the ative sync capabilities to link Outlook email with the phone is very useful in staying in touch with people while on the go. When taking a picture or video with the phone, you can immediately send it to an email address via Outlook. For those who use Microsoft Communicator Instant Messenger, it is also possible to load the IM program on the phone and communicate with people via IM. The phone additionally has GPS capabilities and if you download Google Maps, is very useful for obtaining directions when out and about.
By adding a memory card, you can boost the storage capabilities and might choose to load music, pictures, or video files if using this option.
You can use the mobile internet platform and it works decently well for obtaining basic news, weather, or email from applications such as Gmail. It is not as robust or smooth as using a device such as an iPhone but gets the job done. I recommend disabling the loading of pictures to help with download speed. If you sign up for an unlimited data service plan, you may also consider using the internet sharing functionality. This provides the ability to use your phone as a modem for your computer via USB cable, which is valuable for those who travel frequently or move from place to place with a laptop and still need internet access. The speed on the Sprint network has been comparable to wireless access in a hotel room.
Disabled GPS was a Bait and Switch August 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my second Q. The main reason I upgraded was because after checking it out at a Verizon store, the salesperson showed me HIS Q9C and how it worked with Google Maps and Windows Live Maps. After using it for a couple of weeks and researching this to death, they lock the GPS functionality unless you subscribe to Verizon Navigator for an extra $10 per month. Not what I saw with my own eyes and not what I understood when I bought it. The GPS functionality of the phone should work with whatever application I can run on the phone.
Without that functionality it is of no more value than the original Q. The new Windows Mobile 6.x OS adds nothing.
Good device, Verizon makes life harder. July 14, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Be warned: on any of their Pda/Smartphone type device, Verizon has no GetitNow, no Mobile Web, and many apps available for regular phones are off limits. On my previous Verizon phone, I could get a 24-hour sub to VZ Navigator when I needed it (which amounted to roughly 4 times in a year). Having the GPS for $3 when I needed it was awesome. When you upgrade to a PDA, Verizon does not tell you that the only way to get the VZ Navigator working is the monthly sub. And you'd have to call customer support, and have it added. GPS on this device is locked to VZ Navigator. It actually makes more sense getting a GPS Bluetooth receiver, like Garmin 10.
Why did I switch to it and why did I not get a phone like the Voyager? Because Contact list where all you have are 5 phones and 2 emails is a joke. I want to store addresses, birthdays, IM ids, and whatever other info there is. In the contacts department, Moto Q9c delivers in spades.
Overall impression: I like the device, it is very slim and light, all the buttons have a nice tactile feel, and navigation is easy after a little getting used to, lots of customization options. The default screen setup is quirky, but you can load 3rd party software - especially once you application unlock. Add a spacious miniSD card(2GB can be had for less than $10), and you can store apps, ringtones, music etc there. 2GB cards cost less than $10 these days. ActiveSync makes PC communication a snap. Email was setup in 5 minutes. For internet, you are better off using mobile versions of sites (like m.ebay.com)
While Verizon does put in roadblocks, the coverage, signal, call quality, and data speed are all great. If someone cracks the internal GPS so you can use Google Maps with it, the way you can on the Sprint version, that would be perfect.
the phone is nice, but verizon disabled gps on it July 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is windows based mobile phone with windows media player , planner, desktop sync software, pdf file viewer. the battery is not greatest - last 1 day or so but for functionity phone offers it is great. the huge issue with the phone is gps functionality disabled (google maps, yahoo maps does not work with gps). the only way to use gps is to buy verizon navigator software.
