 Does its job quite well. July 10, 2008
A nicely made little unit, that quite efficiently backs up my 250 gb laptop hard disk. It runs quietly, sits on 4 rubbery feet, and takes up very little space (even less if I stand it on edge). My only quibble would be that the unit's LED does not change color or strobe to indicate that the unit is working, meaning I periodically have to check my laptop during major back-ups, to see if the unit is still downloading.
I also invested in a hard-shell storage case for transport/storage, but that's strictly optional.

I was not at all satisfied with the dealer of this product. They displayed a different product on their web site...specifically because of which I paid an extra $10 cause it was exactly like my previous one which got stolen.
On receiving a different model, I called them up to let them know of the error. But the customer service representative was not able to login to the Amazon portal and help me out.

The passport was received in excellent condition (new). I have already stored much data (pics, tunes and text) with plenty of room to spare. Item was shipped expeditiously and drive was delivered in less than a week.Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive (Midnight Black) Vendor, A&G Shoes appears to be reliable.

Very convenient for the traveler. Compact and lots of space for video and images, as well as for encrypted back up of your computer's documents and folder (easy to use backup software included)
