Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
LG's HBS-200 Bluetooth Stereo Headset offers an affordable way to stream music wirelessly from a cell phone embedded with the Bluetooth stereo music streaming profile. It also serves double duty as a communication headset, allowing you to take calls without having to take the headphones off. Stylishly and ergonomically designed with an around-the-neck profile, it conveniently folds for easy storage.

All play controls are conveniently located on the right earpiece.
The HBS-200 has a sturdy, flexible rubber band that connects the two 2-inch earpieces, and it can be stretched or minimized for just the right size. All controls reside on the right earpiece, and they include a play/pause/stop button in the middle, volume controls on top, and a control on the outside border of the earpiece that allows you to shuttle between songs.

The center of the headset also includes a silver power/talk button (with a phone icon), which you can use to answer incoming calls. You can also access the headset's voice-activated dialing and last-number redial features by pressing the power/talk button first. You can also mute a call by pressing the volume down button. Pairing the HBS-200 headset is a breeze, and a status indicator on the headset will blink blue every 3 seconds once it's connected.

Unfolded, the HBS-200 offers a comfortable around-the-neck profile.
The HBS-200 provides up to 10 hours of talk time, 8 hours of continuous music playback, and 250 hours of standby time. A status indicator on the headset will blink red when the battery is running low, prompting you to plug in the included charger. The headset fully charges in approximately 3 hours.

Note: Your cell phone must be embedded with the Bluetooth A2DP stereo music streaming profile in order to wirelessly listen to audio.

5 out of 5 stars very happy   August 26, 2008
Everything I hoped for. They are light weight and work better than I expected they would. Guess they could break if not handled carefully, but like I said, they are light weight. Work for me.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great!!!   August 17, 2008
Purchased these headphone about a month ago. Read some review before I decided on buying them, all reviews said poor quality and what not. All I have to say is that they are wrong. They haven't broke where people said they break. Possibly because I'm the kind of person that takes care of my stuff. Highly recommend this product to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars LG Bluetooth stereo headset   August 10, 2008
Best stereo headset for the price out there. Easy to pair, sound is very good, could use a little more volume control.

2 out of 5 stars Not a good deal   August 2, 2008
I thought these headphones were a good deal at the price. They did link up to my MP3 and the sound was ok since I mostly listen to books. However, for no reason they broke near the earpiece. After reading other reviews I find this is a common occurance. I "fixed" the break with epoxy and tape and ordered more expensive headphones with better reviews.

4 out of 5 stars No problems here   July 29, 2008
Strange that this headset has received so much negative feedback. I've had no major issues with mine. Paired fine with both of my phones (LG VX5800 & Blackberry Curve 8310). Music quality isn't phenomenal but is pretty good.

Read somewhere that LG manufactured the device twice, with the second production line being much better quality. I'm guessing I got the second batch since mine's pretty durable. Took two weekend trips with a lot of stuffing into backpacks, danced with it on to warm up for my hip-hop show (pretty solid range . . must've been a good 25 feet away with my phone in my backpack and people moving in and out of the way), and typically don't take the best care of my electronics in general. Stood up fine to the strains in my life (ah, will admit that I did not try doing any bboying though).

It is a tad heavy and you will notice some discomfort after wearing it for more than a couple hours. However, I also tried the much more expensive Motorola S9 which simply didn't fit my head nor did the earpieces fit my ears so this headset was much more comfortable. (I'm 5'9" and have a pretty normal sized head if that helps you compare your stature to mine.)

One big caveat is that the microphone probably isn't very good. I had some complaints that people couldn't really hear me when I was on a call outside. (To be fair, I do live in SF where there are constant 15-20mph breezes.) I tried my cousin's new Jawbone 2 which was pretty amazing for microphone quality. It has this "military-grade" noise cancellation system which works ridiculously well; eliminates a ton of ambient noise and seems to identify the speaker's voice clearly. Sorry, I digress . . The HBS-200 will do the trick if you're taking calls inside or in a car with the windows up but I would look for something else if you really need that fresh air.

All in all, it's a pretty fantastic deal for $30 if you're in the market for a bluetooth stereo headset and an indoor phone headset. (Gave it 4 stars because the mic quality really isn't so hot and it is advertised as a phone headset too.)
