Where UMTS isn't available, the handset will automatically connect to T-Mobile's EDGE network.

And share pictures and video easily with T-Mobile's My Album. You can add picture, voice, and video messages from your T-Mobile camera or video phone using the My Album link built into the send menu or by using a simple short code. The brightly colorful interior 2.2-inch TFT display has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and offers support for 16 million colors, while the exterior display has a 128 x 160-pixel resolution and 256K colors, and it enables quick viewing of caller ID, time, battery life, and more. The durable, small and handy folding design keeps the screen and keys protected. On the front of the clamshell you'll find the camera lens as well as playback controls (play/pause, reverse, forward) for the digital audio player.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity and comes fully packed with a variety of helpful profiles, including communication headset, handsfree car kits, object push, file transfer, audio/video remote control, and file transfer protocol. 3 out of 5 stars nice phone; however...   June 18, 2008
This is a nice phone. It would have gotten four stars if: it held a charge longer than a day and a half, and it was a little more "intuitive" in navigating the functions. The users manual is practically useless. The most useful information about the phone is in the fold out brochure. Make sure you keep it to refer to later! The pluses: Excellant excellant sound quality from the phone and the music player. Takes good photos.

1 out of 5 stars Poor Battery Life   June 1, 2008
I saw a number of positive reviews for this phone on different websites and decided to upgrade from my Nokia 3650 which is at least 5 years old. While I have been very pleased with the 3650, I am very disappointed with the 6263 for the main reason that the battery life is poor, as someone else already mentioned. While it is advertised as 11 days on standby, mine lasted only 4 days without any use and with the bluetooth turned off. My 3650, by comparison, lasted 5-6 days and has an advertised standby of 8 days. I thought the phone/battery was defective so I returned it and got a new one, and the same story again - it does not last more than 4 days without use. The 11 days of advertised time is simply false advertising. Once I actually start speaking with it and start using its music features, how long will it last?

The back cover is initially a pain to take off, but I found that it is easiest to remove by placing your fingers in the middle of the back cover and sliding it from there- much easier than the instructions in the manual and quick-start guide. Have not had any other trouble except the battery, but it is enough to make a disappointing experience...

5 out of 5 stars NO PROBLEMS HERE. IMPRESSED SO FAR!   May 2, 2008

I had this as an upgrade from a Samsung Beat. Both are MP3 music phones with external speakers. I have always been a Samsung user ever since but lately, after 2 Samsung phones (the T619 & the Beat) with disappointing performance, I tried the Nokia 6263. For one, I do not have a problem with voice quality on calls with the Nokia, clarity is excellent. The ringer is loud, very loud in fact! Even when you are in a noisy environment, you can still hear the ringer compared to the Samsung phones I mentioned here. With the T619 & Beat, I would always miss a call because the ringer is so faint even in the loudest setting. The external speaker is loud for music applications. Of course, you would not expect a perfect sound from it but just having the proper sound strength is good enough. It is compatible with high capacity MicroSD (up to 4GB).The Nokia's screen is bright, vibrant & clear. I downloaded a few pictures and the clarity is excellent. The Samsung screens were washed out, over exposed even when you try to fine tune the settings. The 1.3MP camera takes very sharp pictures. Both the Samsung & Nokia has a user friendly inter-face. Controls are not hard to figure out. I also like the way the 6263 is built--not so light and not so heavy, neither too small nor to big. Just the right size & feel for a cell phone. Overall, I am happy with the Nokia 6263. Glad I upgraded to it. The Samsung Beat will now go to ebay to cover part of the Nokia's cost.

I love this phone. The screen is very large and bright. The mp3 player and radio were huge attractions for me. I find that the menus are pretty customizable to my liking too. This is the best phone I've ever had.
