Works with layered hair!!!! August 14, 2008 It does take practice. Dont give up after a few times. IT DOES WORK WITH LAYERED HAIR!! Although, you may not be able to make a perfect bun, there are many many other ways to wear your hair. The layered bun works really well. The serpentine also. The best thing to do if you are having trouble is to buy the styling book. The book is very cheap, under $5, and has 15 different styles along with easy to use directions and step by step pictures. JUST DONT GIVE UP!!! It is worth the effort and time.
more of an IQ test than a hair tool. July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
....and I failed the test!
I have to wear my hair up for my job(nursing). A few years back I found a similar product (EZ Buns) at a street fair. It was much easier to use than this product. There was a large opening in the middle where you slipped your hair thro and THEN wound it up into a bun. There was flexible wire around the internal seam which allowed you to bend it around your bun much easier. Much simpler and easier to use.
I was so happy to find the Hairagami since I had worn all three of the other items out. But it was difficult to use because the metal is so tightly curved. I got part way thro and **snap** I had to start over. I felt like I need at least two more arms, eyes in the back of my head, and alot more patience. Finally, with the help of my husband, I was able to do a fair job. The next day I tried doing it on my own and finally got my hair up and secure and all was well.....until I tried to take my hair down for a shower. I could not figure out (with the help of multiple mirrors) how to separate my hair from the Hairagami. I had to wait for my husband to come home to take my hair down and he even had trouble figuring it out (it was more of a nest than a bun at that point).
My final opinion....I can see how it would be a great hair tool for dancers, gymnasts, etc who (most likely) have help in putting up their hair. But for me, it was too much of a hassle and injured alot of my hair. So I will be trolling the street fairs again and looking on-line for the gal (Betsy) who made the better ones.
I had trouble with it... October 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I couldn't get it to work on my hair. I'm not sure if it is because I don't know how to use it or my hair is too thin or both, but it felt like it was going to yank my hair out when I tried to snap it in place and it didn't put my hair up the way I expected.
Can be tricky October 27, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This item can be a little tricky if you have very long or layered hair. I find it very hard to get it all in and to get all of my long hair in there right. Im sure if i had 4 arms I could do it perfectly.
love it May 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
