The full-size binoculars scarcely burden birdwatchers with the optics' minimal weight for a long day tramping through various terrains in the field. With an 8x magnification and a 40-mm lens diameter, the binoculars are ideal for scanning the sky and monitoring treetops, ponds, and brush for some of the feathered species John James Audubon documented by illustration in his classic 1838 book, The Birds of America. Sheltered Wings constructed the binoculars' body in durable fiberglass. For enhanced light transmission and accurate color at various times of the day, the lens have been precision ground and multi-coated. With a 12-mm distance between the eyepiece lens and the user's eye, the binoculars offer medium eye relief for obtaining a full view. Very light, OK optics. April 14, 2008
I've had these binoculars for almost a decade and they are very light (about 17 oz.)and feel good in hand. The optics are OK, but there are better products around now for the same price. Look at Nikon and Pentax.
