4 out of 5 stars so far so good   September 4, 2008
Seams to be good so far and offers a little bit of extra peace of mind.
I only gave it 4 stars because I don't actually know how long it will last or anything because I've only had it for a few months.

5 out of 5 stars Work as advertised   August 31, 2008
I bought this to protect a Windows How Server system which contains all of my "digital life". (My children's pictures, home video, etc) I am using this UPS with the GridJunction add-in on the WHS and both have been working beautifully and saved my system from a sudden power off for 2 times already. I am sure this will eventually pay itself off by saving me the headache of rebuilding the hard drive due to crashes.

4 out of 5 stars Battery Backup for desktop computer   August 30, 2008
This battery backup installed easily and works great keeping my computer from being affected by surges, temporary power flashes or power outages.

5 out of 5 stars Staright foward surge protection + backup battery.   August 30, 2008
Not much to say this thing does what is suppose to do perfectly. No need to read manual during setup, put the battery in then connect the plugs you are up and running.

3 out of 5 stars Ok, best option, but ...   August 25, 2008
I have two APC units and one CyberPower unit - all the 6 outlet / half with battery power, protecting my computer and phone, and primarily the projection TV (so in case of a power outage I have time to turn off the projection lamp and let the fan cool it down).

I apparently have fluctuating power as well as brown- and black-outs, and after a couple of years the units started clicking (loudly) over to battery, sounding the alarm, then clicking back. Every 10 minutes or so. APC website said "this is normal operation". I replaced the batteries - unlike other posters I was able to order from two different battery sources, both of whom delivered quickly, BUT that didn't solve the problem. And at $25-$30 each, ouch.

However, the function this unit provides is necessary, so I'm going to replace two of the dead units (and live with surge protectors for the other devices).

And I fully expect to be replacing these units in another couple of years. If a new solution comes out, I will be first in line to try it.
