| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description DDR (Double Data Rate SDRAM) is a DRAM technology that supports data transfers on both the rising and the falling edges of each clock cycle. This effectively doubles the memory chip's data throughput and is more efficient than legacy SDR technology. Boost the performance of your PC to its maximum capability. PNY memory upgrades will prove to be an outstanding value both now and in the future.

PNY Optima 1GB DDR September 22, 2008 The order arrived with in a reasonable amount of time. Quality, performance was as expected. Very satisfied. I would order this this source again.
Incompatibility with IBM ThinkPad September 15, 2008 I purchased this memory module to upgrade the RAM in my notebook. However, there is an apparent incompatibility between this 1GB DDR module and my IBM ThinkPad 1836-xxx notebook. I returned the first module and subsequently received a replacement (not sure if it was the original or a new module) which does not work either. The PNY website specifically lists this module as being compatible with my notebook. By the way, I have multiple 1836-xxx notebooks in my office and I tried the memory in more than one each time to no avail. It looks like a good module and is comparible cheap. Nevertheless, this module is of no use to me because it won't work in my PC.
Works great with Dell Inspiron 700m laptop July 17, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Looked at a number of companies' memory chips and decided to take chance on PNY. I have used their products in the past and been completely satisfied. I purchased this for my 700m (and specifically wanted to mention this since I had a hard time determining the requirements for a 700m). The Dell takes one or two modules up to 1GB each. They don't have to match in size, so I am told, but it is best if they do. I purchased two 1GB modules. Installation was not as easy as expected, but not hard either. The lower memory module is inserted by removing the "M" panel from the bottom of the Inspiron. The upper module requires that you disassemble part of the computer. Again, not as hard as expected. [...] It took me about 20 minutes to install both chips and get the laptop up and running. What a difference! I started with 2 x 256MB and upgraded to 2 x 1GB. Where the laptop churned and churned when I switched users--taking 2-3 minutes to switch--now a user change takes about 10-15 secs. Should things change after I have had them for a while, I will update this. For the moment, I am very pleased.
Computer Chip Upgrade for Laptop April 23, 2008 Prior to this purchase, my laptop would shut down or freeze when I was editing pictures. I needed a screw driver to open the compartment and my fingers inserted the chip. The first time I inserted the chip my computer did not work. I took it out and reinserted it the exact same way and my computer immediately recognized the memory and worked faster than ever. I recommend this upgrade.
Wrong part for mac February 14, 2008 Was good price. Only problem wasn't correct part. Not shippers fault. Was PNY's data base.
