The 055XPROB makes the Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column feature even easier to use. By extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved. 808RC4 Standard 3 Way Head The 808RC4 streamlines Manfrotto s range of 3-way heads by incorporating new elements while maintaining all the popular features. It is a lightweight aluminum head designed to support up to 17.5 lbs yet small enough to pack in any camera kit. One new feature of the 808RC4 is the Double Axis Spring System, which consists of a built in 3.31 lbs spring for both the front tilt and side tilt movements. This innovative solution, borrowed from the video industry, helps you to smoothly move the camera while framing the picture enabling minimal effort in handling heavier camera loads. Moreover it absorbs the shock of bodies and lenses when reaching the end stop of the head movement. Both springs can be turned off in case normal head operation is required. The standard quick release system is used to accommodate larger camera platforms which incorporate dual axis bubble levels to achieve level shots.

Excellent! September 28, 2008
The product arrived as advertised and promised; on time and working beautifully. The packaging was more than adequate. The tripod seemed a little heavy at first but I soon realized this baby could withstand some major abuse. Sound familiar? What else can I say? It's a tripod!
