I bought this tripod to hold my webcam, which it does very well. The legs can be extended or retracted separately which allows placement on uneven surfaces such as my monitor top. It can take a few tries to get the swivel top just right, but when there it will hold most digital cameras and palm-sized camcorders steadily.
