Monterey King Storage Headboard August 6, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Overall, this is a fantastic bargain for someone looking for a practical, storage-type headboard. The price ($178) for the king size was the best I was able to find for a storage headboard. It's particle board-type material, assembled like IKEA furniture. The instructions could have been a bit clearer on the assembling of the storage shelves, but really not a problem. The one thing that really needs caution is tamping in the dowels on the very top shelf of the headboard. Make sure you line them up and hand-guide them into the holes. I screwed this step up because I was doing it myself and had a hard time since it was king size unit. Only improvement I would make is to cut out some holes in the backer piece so that electrical cords can fit thru for a nice, clean look if you plan on putting a telephone or small lamp or electric clock on the headboard shelves.
