 Ostrich Beach Chaise really suck! September 11, 2008
Bought for vacation and within days rips and damage (bought just for laying on at beach, no crazy stuff). I would have been ok with lasting only the season but less than one week? Never again.

The Ostrich Beach Chair is designed for a person with very short arms and a very small head. I am an average size person and cannot use it while lying on my stomach as is shown in the sketch of the product.The whole chair should have been designed to sit higher off the ground.

I bought two of these for use around our pool. People like them and find them comfortable. One problem though -- something inside the hinges rusts! We don't have much rain here in West Texas but it has rained several times since I purchased these. When we went to move one rusty water spilled out from the hinges onto our pool decking.
I certainly wouldn't purchase one of these unless I had no concern about the rust situation or never expected it to get wet!

I understand how a person might give this a bad review, as it is not perfect... but come on, it is under 40 bucks. If you want fabulous perfect comfort you'll have to buy the one that is $130 (or more). I ordered this via Amazon a few weeks ago and have been using it each weekend since then and it is great. It does what it says it does... it enables you to lie face down and read a book or you can cover the hole up (it has velcro to either tuck the face-hole cover away or keep it in place) or you can lie on your back at a variety of angles. It seems to be of good quality, no shoddy loose stitching or whatever, and the mechanisms to open or fold up the chair are standard for basic beach chairs that I have used before. Yes, okay, if you are not a certain height or something, I can see the arm and face holes not lining up well enough for it to be totally comfortable... that would suck I guess... but it seems to me for a variety of average-sized people this will work. I am 5 feet and 4 inches, and it is fine; no bars are hitting my shins, and my arms are comfortably spaced in the arm holes. The small pillows that velcro into place around the face-hole work well-enough - over time as their foam compresses I might have to supplement it with a small towel or something to make it more comfortable... but, unlike the other person who wrote a negative review, I can't.... because for the price, this chair is a bargain to me, does what the more expensive ones do, and is good quality and comfortable.

Very satisfied with the product. I use it to get a tan in my backyard and it's very durable.
