Amazon.com Product Description
Designed for versatile printing of both photos and text-based documents, Epson's Stylus C84 is stylish and fast and packed with user-friendly features. With Epson's water-resistant, light-resistant, and smudge-resistant DURABrite inks and 357-nozzle design (monochrome plus color), the C84 can print an 8-by-10-inch color photo in less than two and a half minutes (in Photo mode). The printer's 5,760 x 1,440 optimized dpi ensures photo-quality clarity and detail for your bordered or borderless pictures, text, or graphics. Of course, higher-quality settings result in longer print times.

The C84 supports a variety of paper types, including glossy, semigloss, double-sided matte, and inkjet transparencies, as well as large-format sizes up to 8.5 by 44 inches. For photos, DURABrite photo paper gives amazing prints with vibrant color, fine detail in high light and dark areas and smooth graduations. For everyday printing, you can enjoy the same exceptional quality on plain or recycled papers. Due to the special nature of EPSON DURABrite inks, you can print on both sides of the paper without fear of leak-through or page wrinkle, and you can handle the prints as soon as they're printed.

Convenient individual ink cartridges make ink replacement simple and cost-effective, and USB and parallel connectivity facilitates quick setups on both Windows and Macintosh computers. The C84 is backed with a one-year warranty that includes the Epson exchange program.

Product Description
The Epson Stylus C84 has been designed to meet all the print needs of home, home office, and small office users, where the most commonly used media is plain or recycled paper. The Epson's second generation DURABrite inks, which continue to provide resistance to water, are smudge proof, and fade resistant for up to 80 years. The ink offers laser sharp text and vibrant color reproduction on plain paper, resulting in the Stylus C84 becoming an all-round document and photo printing solution. The EPSON Stylus C84 has been designed for the small and home office where running costs are very important; the printer has separate ink cartridges, and the user has the choice to use standard or high capacity ink cartridges. As well as the new DURABrite inks resulting in better print quality, especially when printing photographs, other photographic features include the ability to print border-free prints up to A4.

1 out of 5 stars Absolute piece of junk., junk, JUNK.! DON'T BUY Epson   April 12, 2008
I paid probably $50 for my Epson C84 printer and used it MAYBE 3 months with light print jobs. I ran out of ink. Replaced the ink. Thank goodness I didn't pay full price because now the heads are clogged (after repeated head cleanings and running through the ink even faster), and I'm still getting blank pages. I'll be doing my homework and checking reviews thoroughy before I buy my next printer. But I'll NEVER buy anything from Epson again. I've read the reviews here and it appears just about everyone has experienced the same problems. I don't know if anyone from Epson reads these reviews, but they need a reality check. Lose customers, lose your business, period. This printer is a pure piece of trash. Congratulations Epson, you've made yourself into an incompetant manufaturer. Never again!

1 out of 5 stars Riiiiiiiip Off   April 2, 2008
I work at a college. After spring break 5, count them FIVE Epson stylus printers in five different offices stopped working....frozen ink problem. Die, Epson.

1 out of 5 stars Landfill   January 3, 2008
One word sums it up...LANDFILL.

If you need five words,

Ink sucking, nozzle clogging landfill.

5 out of 5 stars Nearly 3 years of perfect service   December 27, 2007
Purchased in May of 2004, getting worn out parts warning December 2007. Our C84 has printed out massive amounts of video labels and color cd inserts at least five days a week. Color cartridgs were cheap and no problem because we bought them in the aftermarket (private label). Amazed others had so many problems, maybe we are just lucky.

1 out of 5 stars Not that great   December 21, 2007
Ink is expensive and is used up quickly. If you go a few weeks without printing the inkjets dry up and you have to run a series of maintenance tasks to get it to print properly, however when you run these tasks it uses half the ink. I've now gone a couple of months without printing and now it doesn't print at all. Thinking the ink cartridge was damaged like a fool went out and forked out another 35 bucks just to be convinced the jets are dried up beyond repair. Ran the cleaning and aligning tasks and my new cartridge is now half empty and still not printing. Piece of junk. Was nice when I first got though but once you start changing the cartridges it goes down hill from there. Does not print in glossy. Nice and quiet which I also like in a printer. Ugly round shape.
