Product Description Chic, simple. Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 Megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful. Shutter Speed - 15-1/1500 sec.; Long Shutter operates with noise reduction when manually set at 1.3-15 sec. Hurry May 16, 2008 Better buy this now. This is an unbeleiveable price at $161. It's a great camera, but last year's model. My local stores have run out and won't be restocking.
Awesome camera May 15, 2008 This camera is excellent. Small enough to carry in your purse everyday and pull out when you need it, you can even put it in your pocket, but powerful enough like a full sized camera! The features are great, I love the macro option for close pics. I can't wait to try it out at the beach this summer. I would recommend this camera to anyone.
This is my 3rd Powershot! May 15, 2008 Canon does it again and again and AGAIN! Absolutely hands down the best compact digital camera you can buy. I went from '02 SD330 (bigger size) -> '05 SD400 to this.
Improvements from SD400. Can take pictures much faster. Camera feels more refined. Bigger LCD, changes position of picture when you flip it. Improved quality of pics in night mode (maybe because of the lower ISO?), controls are easier to access.
Also, don't forget Canon's amazing customer service. Powershot 4 life.
Good Compact Digital May 15, 2008 Fun camera, nice and small so it easily fits in my purse so I can bring it everywhere with me. Turns on quickly but taking a picture can be confusing if you haven't used it before (you need to make sure you push the button down all the way). Takes good pictures even in low light the flash is decent. Overall a good camera, would buy again.
Small, simple & sharp May 15, 2008 We bought this camera for our 81 year old Mother for Mother's Day. It takes a great picture even with the trembly hands of our Mom. It is so easy to use and small enough to drop in your pocket. We are delighted with this purchase!
