8.0 == 7.5 October 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I and my friend just bought this items. Both of our drives are exactly 7.5G not, 8.0G. This is not a matter of file system journaling eating up some of the space. The physical device itself is registering at 7.5G. Not cool.
Good Quality, Large Capacity Flash Drive October 8, 2008 This flash drive is a little larger legnthwise than my previous flash drive, though that is not an issue with me. It is a great price for 8 GB of space ($50-70 for 8 GB at Wal Mart and similar stores) and I like that the USB port is retractable so there are no caps to be lost. The only thing I miss about my old 1 GB drive is that it had a bar on the outside that indicated how much space was used, this drive does not have that, you have to plug it into the computer to find out. I like that there isn't a ton of software to install with it that I do not need, just the simple storage space, which is great. It has no key chain ring, which some people don't like, but I don't travel with it that way so it was no issue for me. I think it's a great drive for the price, easy to use with a lot of storage space, perfect for a college student.
Kingston Data Traveler October 6, 2008 I needed large enough storage for taking some of my work home and from home to work. I need huge amounts of storage space for some the presentations. The Kingston 8gb serves that purpose well and it's a one piece tool and I don't half to worry about losing the cap. I put to good use as soon as I got it. Thanks
Exactly what I need October 5, 2008 Excellent flash drive! Compact, light and comfortable to carry in jeans pocket so it's always with me. Memory 8GB covers pretty much all my everyday needs. Has no cap so it can't be lost. I believe it is currently best value for this size, data transfer speed and quality.
Very flimsy USB drive October 4, 2008 This USB Drive is very poorly made. I expected more from Kingston, who I always regarded as producing a good product. The metal USB connector, which ejects out of the main body in a clumsy, non-smooth fashion, is too easily bent up and down, opening the seems of the plastic case. Also, the body design itself seems to be too wide for some (admittedly older) USB ports. Overall, I expected a sturdier outer casing. In terms of data storage, however, I have no complaints.
