4 out of 5 stars Good Value for the Dollar.   October 15, 2006

I wanted something sleek, compact and full sounding. I was shocked how full the sound was. I listen to it pretty loud at times and was shocked there was no distortion (or none detectable by my ears). My friends also thought it was a steal for the sound. It fills up my large apartment and I am considering purchsing another one for my bedroom.

4 out of 5 stars Looks Great and Sounds Great   September 27, 2006

I looked at and listened to a number of compact stereos before selecting the TEAC CD-X9. For the size (it's very compact) and price this is a great system. Having a subwoofer really rounded out the sound and adds a richness typical of larger systems. I also like that it can play MP3 CDs and has a mini-plug jack to plug in your portable MP3 player. Don't expect this system to fill a large room with big sound. Most any compact system can't. But what this system does, it does well

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this   September 1, 2006

Just awful. I thought it's a good deal from Amazon, but it's not. I just opened the package and the system plays no sound at all.
And I am not the only one that has the same issue, read prior reviews.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for a great price!   July 25, 2006

I have no complaints about this unit. If you turn your radio to loud in your car it gets distorted as well. All electronics have their limits. The sound quality at normal volume is great and you can't beat the price.

1 out of 5 stars OOB failure   July 25, 2006

I'd like to think that when something is "refurbished" that they at least tried to plug it in and see if it works before sending it out - but apparently nobody did, because the one I received was dead on arrival. It powered up, but none of the transport controls or function controls on the front panel worked, and I couldn't get the stereo to play a CD, the radio, or anything at all. Returned it for money back. What a shame.
