no cap - open plug end is not good for dusty workplaces
too thick to plug directly into stacked ports
not easy to tighten lanyard bolt enough for it to stay put

I've had this drive for 9 months now and it's still working just like the first day. I put it in my pants' pockets along with coins and keys. No mechanical failures so far. I use it to store personal info and to transfer files between home and work computers. Initially I had to download the latest driver from Memorex Web site to make it work as advertised. Highly recommended.

I purchased the Memorex 512 MB Flyer to keep mp3's on to listen at work and to transfer files when needed. The drive has been trouble free and works seemlessly with both Windows XP and 2000 Professional. The access rate is fast enough I can play mp3's directly from the Flyer using Media Player at work. There are no pauses or stutters at any time.
Good value for the money.

Pros:
Slim profile. Allows it to fit into USB port with little competition with other devices in neighboring ports.
Fairly rugged.
Software seems to work well.
Cons:
Difficult to retract into case.
Lanyard is less than robust (has sharp edges that can cut into lanyard. (Would have liked a neck strap)
Very disappointed to learn - just the following week after purchase - that I could have bought one for less than half what I paid at Amazon at a local computer store (Can'r remember is it was Compuserve or Best Buy.)

The flyer is truly one of the best purchases I could have made in the past month. As a very mobile college student constantly in need of a way to transport papers, music, powerpoints, etc. I have been searching for a solution to consolidate all of this data into one place (without the need for e-mail back and forth to myself). The Flyer allows me to do not only that, but carry it where ever I go be it work, school, or a friends' place. Go get one for yourself.
