Great USB drive - also a BOTTLE OPENER!!!! May 17, 2008 Besides being a fantastic little USB drive, the Cruzer Titanium can also be used as a bottle opener! I'm not kidding... If I had a camera handy I'd make a video. I've been using Cruzer Titaniums for several years now and though I've never been disappointed by them, I have never been as satisfied with one as I am right now. :)
Very Handy May 10, 2008 I love this Flash Drive. It works great with file transfers to my PS3 too. I didn't like the free software on it but its easy to get rid of it.
Excellent thumb drive May 5, 2008 The drive is very fast. The switch to move the connector out works very smoothly. Construction is very sturdy, highly recommend this device.
fast, solid, ergonomic flash drive April 29, 2008 I have it only for a week or so, but here are my observations.
Works well with Macbook, especially after I erased U3 from it - you need Windows for that, the virtual one running under VMWare works fine.
Drive is fast, tested by simply copying large file back and forth, observed about 12MB/s write speed and 28MB/s read speed.
My friend recently got flash drive made by other company, it is twice the capacity for the same price, but writing speed is truly disappointing at around 2MB/s. Also metal housing seems to serve better if one wants to wear drive on key ring.
Beautiful but F R A G I L E April 27, 2008 Ok, you're perhaps thinking "How can something made of titanium, and having a crush resistance of +2000 lbs be fragile?"
It isn't physically. But it is highly fragile electrically. I have owned 4 of these stylish drives. It is THE most aesthetically beautiful flash drive ever produced. Each of the 4 I owned, except the first which I purchased, was a replacement from the company. The drive is extremely unstable, and will easily "fry." By that I mean that it will become absolutely useless, as in; won't format, wont be recognized by ANY computer, won't light up the "prettyblueblinkinlight," won't ANYTHING.
I am very careful with all technology, and I always "eject" my flash drives before removing them, even though technically you don't have to according to Microsoft (HAH!). Each of the 4 eventually did this resulting in frustration, and occasionally loss of the most recent changes to un-backed-up data (after all you can't back up a 4 GB drive each and every time you use it).
I sent the last one (which waited till it was out of warranty before it failed) back to SanDisk with a note about the new Dane I purchased to replace it. The Dane was far less expensive, almost as stylish, and far more stable. I have had it for some time now with no problems.
No more SanDisk products for me AT ALL, EVER!
