So far, so good July 24, 2008
Application: I was wary after reading some of the reviews about the application process, especially since the actual package doesn't have any instruction. There are two outer layers, one on each side of the actual screen protector. Removing the first blue sticker and plastic sheet reveals the back of the protector that adheres to the screen. Removing the second blue sticker AND plastic sheet reveals the front of the screen protector. I think people having trouble are trying to peel the little blue sticker off the plastic and having a hard time because it is supposed to come off with its plastic cover.
Had a few bubbles and removed them with the cardboard packaging, and that in turn left a few small scratches on the cover, which is annoying. If cardboard can scratch the protector, I'll definitely be going through these quickly.
I agree with others that the player should come with a screen protector. I never removed the protector that came on my Zen Vision:M, and it lasted (with no scratches whatsoever) for the 2+ years I had my player.

I wasn't so sure of the screens after reading several of the reviews but I decided to go ahead and get them and I am very glad I did. They go on nicely and you can barely tell its there. The only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the first screen cover I put on had a huge scratch on it that made it very hard to see the screen. But since they included 3 I just simply pulled it off and slapped a new one on.

I bought this product specifically because of the advertised FM recording capability so that I could record conferences I attend for infirmed patients and friends of mine. Now I find the capability has been removed through "updating firmware"--I am not happy about this. I do feel Zen should compensate buyers and restore the capability. Definitely get screen protectors--it scratches very easily. Get a memory card for audio books otherwise the books get mixed into the music lists.
