Adobe Contribute CS3 software enables anyone to quickly and easily update existing websites and blogs. With Adobe Contribute CS3, content authors can post and publish content to multiple websites and blogs from a single application or publish directly from within Microsoft Office applications.

True WYSIWYG authoring capabilities let you edit any website in three simple steps.

Easily update web content
For professional web designers, web developers, and website administrators, ensuring that website and blog content remains fresh and current is an enormous challenge. Often this means delegating the responsibility for updating web content and blog entries to numerous contributors, which can put website integrity at risk, especially when disparate tools are used for the different tasks. With Adobe Contribute CS3, anyone can quickly and easily update multiple websites and blogs using a single application--without compromising site integrity.

Simply browse to the website that needs updating or the blog that requires a new entry, make changes to the content using Adobe Contribute CS3, and publish when finished. You can also publish content directly from Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook.

Use one tool for publishing to multiple websites and blogs
With Adobe Contribute CS3, anyone can update website content or create blog entries using a single application. True WYSIWYG authoring capabilities let users edit any website or blog in three simple steps, dramatically reducing editing time. Alternatively, authors can publish directly from within Microsoft Office applications in a few clicks. Just open the document that contains the content you want to post, click Publish, and select the target website or blog.

Even rich media, images, movies, and Adobe Flash (FLV) files can be easily included in any website or blog using Adobe Contribute CS3. In Edit mode, just drag the file onto the website or blog entry. Adobe Contribute CS3 automatically uploads and posts it to the site when published. Because authors edit content and add images in their actual context on the website or blog before publishing, content length and style, as well as image sizes, are right the first time. With Contribute CS3, you can embed PDF documents directly into your web page or blog entry. You can also convert your Microsoft Office documents to Adobe PDF and insert them into a web page.*

Maintain website integrity
Seamless integration between Adobe Contribute CS3 and Dreamweaver templates ensures that your website's look and feel is maintained, even when multiple authors update content across the site. Web designers and developers can create page templates with editable regions during website creation and then delegate routine content updates to business users. Because content authors can update only the areas designated by the designer or webmaster, the website always appears as the designer intended. And just like Dreamweaver, Adobe Contribute CS3 preserves code quality and formats through the editing process.

Top reasons to buy Adobe Contribute CS3

Unified web publishing
Publish to multiple websites and blogs from a single application.

Easy Flash (FLV) upload
Include Adobe Flash (FLV) files in websites and blogs by simply dragging and dropping the file onto the web page or into the blog entry during edit. Contribute CS3 automatically uploads the file and posts it to the site on publish.

Compatible with Windows Vista and Intel based Macs
Adobe Contribute CS3 works on Intel and PowerPC based Macs and on Windows XP and Windows Vista systems.

Quick web page and blog posting from Microsoft Office
Publish content directly from within Microsoft Office applications using the template of your choice, significantly reducing your editing time. Contribute CS3 adds buttons to your Office applications that allow you to publish directly to a website or post to a blog without even opening Contribute.

WSIWYG blog templates
Enjoy the convenience of authoring blog entries offline in your own template, with convenient WYSIWYG layout and full-featured text editing. Drag and drop rich media elements directly into your blog as you edit it.

Editing from Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2
Use Contribute browser buttons to edit the page you are browsing or to post its content to a blog. The latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers are now supported.

Convenient PDF support
Embed PDF documents directly into your web page or blog entry. Conveniently convert Microsoft Office documents to PDF, and then insert them into your web page.*

Standard protocol support
Post your updates using any standard file transfer, web-authoring, or blogging protocol, including FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, MetaWeblog, and Atom.

* Requires the installation of Adobe Acrobat software, sold separately. Acrobat CS3 Professional is included with Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium and Master Collection.

1 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy this product!   July 17, 2008

The company I work for uses this product from time to time on sites. I would not recommend this product to my worst enemy. This product only brings pain and frustration.

If you are looking for this level of maintainability, please hire a real web developer to solve this problem for you. At least then there is a good chance you will get what you want.

I have been working with this product since version 2.0 and now they are up to 4.1. The only thing that has changed in those 3 years is that they added blogging to the application, which none of our clients have used. This application is slow and very buggy. It always has been. It has been over a year and this product has not even been updated.

I have used this product on large sites and small sites. Large as in 500 to 10,000 pages and small 1-25 page sites. If this is all that you can afford, then note that it might get the job done but it will not be a pleasant experience. When you can afford it please have a small web team or someone you know move you to an Open Source CMS (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, TypePad, Joomla!, etc., which are free)

This product had a lot of potential but was never given enough attention from Macromedia/Adobe to make it great.

5 out of 5 stars Works as advertised. Easy to Use   July 1, 2008
Great product. Ease of use was the most important factor for user satisfaction. As advertised, Contribute makes editing web pages extremely simple. It functions as advertised with no problems editing the target site.

1 out of 5 stars Buggy and not worth the price   June 25, 2008

I chose to use Contribute because it works more consistently with Dreamweaver CS3 than other free software, and I'm picky about subtle layout issues. However, other than its compatibility with Dreamweaver layouts, Contribute has little to offer over similar software that you can get for free.

Contribute has crashed and caused major operating errors four times in the past thirty days.

I can't get contribute to allow users to preview sites when they are working offline. Contribute likes to connect directly with the server hosting the website, and it gets cranky when you try to design pages offline and then let someone else upload them after review. It controls the workflow too strictly - greatly increasing the learning curve with this product.

My staff has used Contribute to destroy several pages on websites. For reasons that no one can explain or predict, it occasionally rewrites all the links from existing resources to temporary files on the working computer. The result is that the page looks fine while you are working on it, but when you upload it, all the image links and hyperlinks are broken.

When you paste text into Dreamweaver, Dreamweaver applies the appropriate cascading style sheet. Contribute carries over formating from the source document. I've had it a month, and I haven't figured out how to make it work with Cascading style sheets.

I recently paid for it, but wanted to get the box because the software takes like four hours to download (the free software which is more functional, easier to use, and more stable downloaded in a matter of minutes: Nvu). Since I bought it, I thought I should be able to receive the product key to unlock the trial version on my computer. They said they would give that if I paid to re-download it, but they would not give that if I paid for a box. I called customer service and was put on perpetual hold. I e-mailed customer service. Two days later, Ahrie, a technical support engineer, e-mails me back saying I should call customer service and that he hopes that advice helped.

I am disappointed with this product and disappointed with Adobe customer service. Try Nvu first.

4 out of 5 stars Website control!   September 3, 2007

I have found this to be a great tool for modifying my website and giving me full control over the content. Its very easy to install and use although I'm still learning some more of the finer details. This product works great with an existing website and I would recommend web designers who work with Dreamweaver to tell their clients about it so they can give them full access to the content of the site without altering the design. I am certainly having fun with it! [...].

1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy Contribute CS3   July 26, 2007

===DON'T BUY CONTRIBUTE CS3===
The Contribute CS3 version has a TON of bugs and does not work correctly with Server Side Javascript nor does it work correctly with interactive Flash Menus.
When I contacted Adobe to Swap the licence for the new CS3 for the older 4.0 version, they said 'NO' and that they where AWARE of the bugs but would not offer a solution at this time.
If you try to purchase any older version software, Adobe will NOT sell you older software nor will they support any older versions of Macromedia Software.
DON'T BUY ANY NEW ADOBE VERSION SOFTWARE!
They don't know what the hell there doing over there. At least Macromedia supported ALL of there software and allowed you to purchase older versions of software.
ADOBE SUCKS!
