4 out of 5 stars Great for the really small business   April 30, 2008

According to Microsoft, "SBS 2003 R2 is targeted at businesses with up to 75 users or devices. When a business gets close to the upper limit of 75 users or devices, it's time to consider moving to the standalone versions of the SBS product technologies: Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition, and SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition."

This means that you cannot have more than 75 users OR DEVICES that connect to the server in a Small Business Server-based domain (network). If you have 50-60 users right now, it's probably best to look away from SBS from the start. Microsoft doesn't give a clear upgrade path at a discount to the "standalone version" software that hey speak of. You have to buy it all again.

I usually recommend SBS 2003 or SBS 2003 R2 to my clients that have 20 or fewer users on the network. Other than this, it's time to move up to standard edition. Good luck with your implementation.
