Product Description
The Mio DigiWalker C230 is a stylish and pocket-sized navigation device equipped with updated, preloaded US maps on internal memory, plus text-to-speech voice prompts. The Digiwalker talks to you as you drive and lets you keep your eyes on the road. The turn-by-turn navigation uses street names and landmarks as well as distance measures, eliminating any possible confusion as to where to go. For example, instead of saying "Turn right in 200 feet," the Mio c230 will say "Turn right on Broadway in 200 feet." The C230 requires no additional map data, and it's ready to use right out of the box! Delivering incredible performance and an intuitive interface, the C230 is your ideal companion for the road ahead.Delivering incredible performance and an intuitive interface, the C230 is your ideal companion for the road ahead. 5 out of 5 stars Excellent value for the price!!   May 13, 2008
I found this on sale at a local sporting goods store for $99 and for the price it's unbeatable! The maps are good and it updates fairly quickly. It actually speaks the street names to you which at this price in unheard of. I'm sure the maps are a little dated now but the area I live in hasn't changed much. It does have problems on military installations so I wouldn't trust it to find your way around a new duty station.

2 out of 5 stars Great features, but awful routing and difficult to use   May 12, 2008
This gps has some great features, but it is inaccurate by at least 100 yards, and does not route correctly no matter how you set it. When you deviate from the route the gps has a real problem re-routing to your destination, due to the fact that is takes some time for the unit to determine your present position. In many cases it recalcultes over and over and then selects a completely different route even though the original route is mech shorter. It routes you thru back streets instead of highways.

I sent it back to MIO for repairs and received it back in 8 days, however it still has the same problems it had when I sent it back. Customer service tells me they can do nothing else. I think the problem is that the firmware needs updating as the Tele Atlas maps are pretty current. One service rep told me that MIO will be issuig an update in the next few weeks. She did not indicate whether it will be a firmware or map update. In the meantime I'll keep using my Magellan Maestro 3140 which is the best of the many GPS units I've owned. If Mio does update the firmware I'll keep it, if not, its going.

3 out of 5 stars MIO C230   May 12, 2008
I think once I feel more confident using the Mio GPS I will like it better. I find that the instructions aren't as clear as a novice would like them to be.

The voice mechanism is pretty accurate. However, pronounciation of street names is often incorrect!

3 out of 5 stars Returned it   May 12, 2008
I got TOMTOM with canada maps for the same price so returned this. Even the price on Amazon went down by $5 after I bought. Amazon charged me for the return shipping.

2 out of 5 stars Mio 230   May 11, 2008
The Mio230 was priced well below market vallue, but not available at the lowest advertised price. Which I thought was misleading. I ended up getting it from the same vendor at a higher cost. The Mio230 is easy enough to use and somewhat accurate, but it tends to dead end you a lot. By that I mean the unit will take you to screens you just cannot get out of. I would recommend anyone to wait until they get enough money to buy one of the higher cost units from a better know manufacturer.
