Amazon.com Product Description Hook up your iPod, MP3 player, or personal CD player to your home stereo system with this Maxell A/V splitter, which also comes with a 3.5 mm cable. The cables work intuitively: just plug one end of the 3.5 mm cable into the splitter, and the other end into the headphone jack of your audio device. Next, connect the red and white RCA plugs to your amplifier/receiver/TV for stereo sound, or add the yellow RCA plug to also enjoy a video connection (ideal for connecting the iPod video or photo). The cables make it possible to enjoy your entire digital music library through your home stereo system without using a poor-quality FM transmitter, or to watch saved iPod videos through your large-screen TV. It's even easier to hook up to powered external speakers, as the 3.5 mm cable can handle the audio signal by itself. Other details include gold-plated connectors for optimal conductivity and a 90-day warranty. What's in the Box 3.5-mm-to-RCA A/V splitter, 3.5 mm cable, user's manual.

If Video Doesn't Work (ipods) Try this... June 7, 2008 I almost returned this product because I couldn't get it to work with my 30g video ipod and then found the following in the reviews for another similar product. Hope it helps someone else:
"The AV Cable allows you to connect your iPod/iPhone with color screen to your home entertainment system. Now you can view your videos, pictures or slideshows with audio on your home television.
Setting Up Your iPod Video Options Before Watch iPod Video on TV 1.Turn on your iPod, choose Videos -> Video Settings from your main iPod menu. This screen will show three settings: TV Out, TV Signal and Widescreen. 2.Select TV Out, make sure you select "On" that will produce TV signal. 3.TV Signal: If you live in the U.S., your TV works with the NTSC standard. European countries mostly use PAL. 4.Widescreen: You can choose "On" to produce a widescreen signal (16:9), or "off" to export the traditional TV output (4:3)."
Works Nicely February 8, 2008 This audio cable works as described. The sound quality is excellent, with no noticeable defects or distortions even at high volumes. Video quality is as good as it can be, considering that the videos are sized to natively look good on a three inch screen.
works as described April 2, 2007 Works well and as described. No color switching required for the cables when used with iPod (many other similar products do with a similar price range). I say go for this one!
IPOD video March 18, 2007 I had previously purchased one from ebay and the wires were thin, this is sturdy and durable works like a charm.
