Product Description Rounding out the line is the RCA ANT1500, a flat multi-directional antenna which patented dual-plane design provides consumers with more antenna in less space. Designed to be hung on the wall, rest on a stand or lie flat on a shelf, the 10.4-inch square, 0.78 inch-thin antenna virtually disappears in a room. The ANT1500's patented design consistently outperforms traditional antenna designs when receiving signals across the VHF and UHF bands.

No amplification equals no signal November 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this antenna to enhance my HDTV signal. Unfortunately, due to the fact that there's no powered amplification to this antenna, it picks up hardly any signals. Those that it does look horrible. The only location where the antenna seemed to get any decent signal was 4 feet away from the TV, in the middle of the room. Kind of defeats the purpose. I'm taking it back to get an amplified antenna. Skip this one.
Location, location, location! November 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The same phrase that is used in real estate can be used for this antenna. It all depends on where you locate it. I bought this antenna intending to use it to pick up the local channels on my TV in the great room, attaching it to the RCA dtv converter box. In this location in my condo, this antenna picked up fewer stations than my 10 year old, ugly, amplified rabbit ears.
So I moved the antenna to the TV located in my spare bedroom. This TV has a Magnavox dtv converter box. I am absolutely thrilled with using this antenna in the bedroom, as I can finally pick up WISH-TV Channel 8 which I couldn't receive with the converter box before now. I also found it did not matter where I located this antenna. Currently I have it flat on a shelf underneath the TV, I tried it up on the wall and there was no difference in the reception, and no difference in the number of channels it could scan in.
I still cannot get Channel 8 on my great room TV, but at least I can watch it in the bedroom, where I need to be on my exercise bike anyway :)
My one-story ranch/condo is located 9 miles southeast of downtown Indianapolis, no tall buildings around for miles.
24 CHANNELS PLUS November 6, 2008 I am currently using this on my desktop PC with a Haupage TV tuner and surprisingly I get really good reception with it.You would not think that something like this would work very well but it does,of course we live in a area thats fairly close to a lot of stations so that helps. From my usage point it does work and it is fairly easy to hide, right now I have it standing near a window in the room.A short note, and I don't know if it matters, but with Windows MCE I could only tune about 6 channels, but with Haupage version 6 WinTv I pick up about 24 channels.???
hang it on the wall November 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the ANT1500 to replace my amplified bunny ears. I wanted to use the bunny ears for my upstairs TV. The slim design was a big seller for me. When I first got it, I had to move it around to find the "sweet spot". Once I found the sweet spot, I put some nails on the wall and hung it.
Picks up a few HD channels that I could not get with my super-charged bunny ears. I recommend this product.
Works well, but not a miracle worker.. November 2, 2008 I live in a area with some reception problems. Hi DEF signals are all around, but the strength varies. This unit does allow me to receive more HD signals without adjusting the units orientation, but doesn't really help w the signal strength.
If you live in a normal signal strength area this is a good unit. If however, your area has weak signals, a outside antenna may still be the best bet.
