Works well -- just as advertised !!! July 5, 2008
The Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for the Nuvi Series works very well in my Tundra, Avalon and Explorer vehicles, all of which have very different dashboards. I would rather have the flexibility of placing the GPS anywhere that I want (which you can do with this accessory)than having a dash-mounted device. Excellent value for your $$$

It falls off the dash of my Mazda Miata. Not every time. Often enough to be annoying.

This temporary dashboard mount beats the heck out of a windshield suction mount, and allows for easy transfer between vehicles. It's a sturdy platform and doesn't slide around. The mount came in really handy during a recent round-trip 950-mile vacation because I could easily remove the GPS unit from view during short driving breaks and overnight stays. Leaving no indication my vehicle was GPS-equipped gave me a greater sense of security.

The bottom of the friction mount is non-slippery, so it really does stay put on the dash, even if the dash is sloped. I highly recommend this mount if you don't want to stick a mounting plate on your dash.
