Product Description Optical Digital Interface Cable provides superior accuracy for signal trasfer of digital information from component to component. This cable is an excellent complement to your component entertainment system. Better definition and true clarity. It is specifically engineered for a digital signal data transfer. For highest quality signal transfer in digital components using Toslink optical to Toslink optical connections. The optical signal offers more digital information at higher speed and only a cable manufactured with glass fiber will provide this extra data. Because the information is converted into light impulses that are sent over the fiber optic cable, the signal is immune from RF or magnetic interference. Fiber optic Toslink connections are used on high-end stereo equipment and often seen on MiniDisc players & recorders. Can be used for high quality signals found in: CD, DVD players, VCD, LD, DTS & Dolby Digital Audio Receivers, MD, Digital Audio PC, Divx, DAC, Digital Satellite, Digital Receivers.

Need an optical audio cable? Buy this one now. July 24, 2008 I have purchased 4 of these cables over the last several months and I have no complaints. This is one of those "it works or it doesn't" kind of things. 5 stars or 1 star. And this is definitely 5 stars. The build quality is solid, and there is no difference in audio quality between this cable and a $40+ optical cable from one of those other companies.
Same goes with HDMI cables, by the way. All these great reviews don't lie. I was skeptical at first but at this price you can afford to take the risk, although there really isn't a risk. It just works. Stop reading this and order some cables.
Great optical cable July 13, 2008
Using this cable to send audio (CD) from the Sony Blu-Ray player to my Samsung Home Theater system. It works flawlessly and you can't beat the price.
Don't buy into the cable hype. This cable is affordable and will do the job very well!
Fiberoptic cable July 5, 2008 Great price. I don't notice a difference between this cable and my older "brand-name" cable which costed 10-15x more a few years ago ($30 aproximately). Shipping was expensive and costed more than the cable.
NOT the cable for the XBox 360 owners! June 21, 2008 I bought these from Vortex Cable via Amazon. I don't know if all sellers are the same, but they combined shipping for me. I ordered five and paid the same shipping for one.
As people have stated, this cable is digital so it has the same signal quality of the "ripoff" cables costing $50+.
The only thing I noticed was that it would not snap tightly into my 360. No problems on the PS3, TV, or Onkyo Toslink connections though. I bought a $12 Phillips cable from WalMart and that snapped into the 360 perfectly.
I saved a ton of money using these for the other connections, and would highly recommend them to anyone but 360 users.
Quality cable @ a great price June 13, 2008 Like other reviewers have stated I ordered this cable from Abacus 24/7. Total with shipping came in a little over $4. Plugged in the cable and all is good. I can now get Dolby Digital into my receiver from my TV. :)
