Works great!! July 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like many other people, my Sirius Satellite Radio DOT Car Antenna SSP1460 failed, so I replaced it with this one. It works great. Solidly built. I get much better reception of terrestrial signals too. Excellent replacement.
Works Great! May 27, 2008 This antenna was a replacment for one I had left on my trade in car, after looking at the negative reviews of the smaller Sirius antennas I stuck with the same one I had before. Work's great with my Sirius passport SV-1 connected to my Mazda 3s factory system. I would reccomend people stick with this antenna.
Better than Sirius Micro-dot antenna! May 21, 2008 I bought this product to replace the third Sirius Micro-dot antenna that died on me. Sirius replaced the first one under warranty but I had to buy the second and third one. Sirius knows the Micro-dot is a piece of poop but they won't even respond to you after the warranty runs out. This one receives as well or better in some locations than the Micro-dot. I expect it to last more than 6 months since it is sealed. Don't buy junk from Sirius!
Replacement Siruis External Car Antenna May 14, 2008 The product Directed Electronics 14105 Car Antenna worked exactly as advertised. Low profile, great reception--even from the inside of my car where I used it until installed it correctly. This was a replacement to a Siruis OEM antenna and a little cheaper than other advertised models. All models appear to have same flaw like the Siruis OEM antenna, a flimsy coxial type connector that will eventually wear out or break due to device movement or when disconnecting.
Directed Electronics Antenna 14105 May 12, 2008 This antenna is working great! It still resides inside the plastic bag in which it came resting on my hatchback rear cover INSIDE the car. The only time it loses reception is in my driveway under a tree canopy. I ran the wires up and around the trim and have left inside from day one. It is now about three months later and the DE 14105 continues to work great. I have hesitated putting it outside for fear of breaking a wire in the hatchback door.
The antenna that came with my "car kit" from Sirius lasted about one month. Perhaps I did not mount the magnet properly? I was careful to run the wire and find the least crushing spot on my car to lead the wire to the outside roof.
For the price, this is a wonderful value - for me, music is a must in my car.
