5 out of 5 stars Great Gift!!!!   September 23, 2008
FInding a great gift for a man is sometimes a difficult thing to do. My DH loves this... it's a gadget which all men love, it keeps all those business cards off our dresser that he throws there every night when he cleans out his pocket, and it keeps all his contacts nice and organized. It is so quick and easy to use. Ya you do have double check all the cards to make sure they go through correctly but the time to do this is so minimal. I did research and once again Amazon is the place with the best prices!

5 out of 5 stars CardScan Personal   September 17, 2008
The CradScan Personal Scanner is a very useful tool for the individual that retains a considerably large group of business cards and also enjoys having the cards and information in an organized sequence. The software and scanner are both very user friendly. There may be a few instances when the scanner is unable to read the information on the card due to the business card's font style. The person scanning the card will then have to type in the information, or cut, copy and paste into the correct areas of the contact sheet. The scanner sorts all cards by company, name or phone number. Once the software and information is loaded to your PC, another PC will be able link to and transfer your stored information. In order for both PC's to work at the same time you must purchase an additional license for about $85. I do recommend and am very happy with this product.

4 out of 5 stars Windows Vista 64-bit   September 15, 2008
The product does not work with Windows Vista 64-bit. Make sure you don't buy it if you have Windows Vista 64-bit.

PS: Gave it four stars because it works well with XP

4 out of 5 stars Worth it, but have reasonable expectations   July 29, 2008

Let me give some background to this. I'm an intern this summer and I was asked by my boss to get 300+ business cards on the computer and in his Microsoft Outlook address book. This is where I turned (Amazon has the lowest price on this good from anywhere by far).

The good things....
-It was an easy set up
-The software is very friendly and easy to convert to excel or outlook
-The system makes mistakes but its not very hard to go through and check each business card after everything is scanned. The software keeps track of which cards you "verify" which is a nice check on the occasional mistakes that the machine makes. It also shows you the image of the business card that you scanned when you correct the info.
-It impressively tells the difference between phone numbers, fax numbers, and cell phones, direct lines. Everything.

The cons
-Its not super easy to feed cards into all the time. I'd have a streak where I would place the card in the feeder and it would go through no problem, and then that would stop and i'd have to fiddle with how I was feeding in the card. Not a big deal, and you quickly get used to the process.

All in all it saved me a ton of time and got the job done for me. It can do the same for you.

1 out of 5 stars Not bad when it works   July 29, 2008

It worked fine for a while. Then it quit recognizing cards when they were inserted in the device.

Calls to support are maddening. Just forget about it. After waiting 30 minutes with no answer with an irritating voice remind you how to self-fix your problem, I gave up and threw it in the trash!

Waste of money and time. DO NOT BUY unless you recognize this is a disposable device. Forget about warranty. If don't answer their phone or their email, I guess they never have to provide it.
