Amazon.com Product Description The Kensington 64163 Anchor Point Screw-on lets you make your own immovable object out of virtually anything. The Anchor Point is constructed of a metal plate and loop that easily screws into most any surface, and an attractive face plate that secures your anchor point by preventing screw removal. The Kensington 64163 easily anchors your Notebook Micro Saver, letting you simply run the Micro Saver cable through the metal loop, allowing you the flexibility to turn virtually any surface into a security anchor for your laptop or other valuable devices. The Kensington 64163 is backed by a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty, and requires a cable locking system for use.
Product Description Missing that "immovable object" to secure your MicroSaver locking system? Now you can make any surface an immovable object with this AnchorPoint MicroSaver Accessory Kit. Simply screw the metal plate to your surface, cover it with the attractive faceplate, and run your MicroSaver cable through the metal loop. It's so easy.

Bought, but not used September 24, 2008 I ended up looping my cable around a post on my desk, I think it's easier than drilling holes in the desk and a little less destructive to the furniture which means something to me since i'm in a college dorm
good product October 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
kensington locks are pretty solid in general; although, there's not much security you can gain from three small screws (in wood per say). I would suggest, if Kensington wanted this thing ridiculously secure, is to make the sheathing out of metal (not plastic as it is now).
doesnt include a cable or lock... May 30, 2007 1 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this thinking it would be a cheap way to lock up my new monitor, with its Kensington Security hole. And, amazon's product picture clearly shows a lock and cable included. However, what amazon shipped me was clearly not what I expected. In this so called "kit" you will receive some screws, the metal anchor point, and a plastic cover. You will NOT receive a physical lock and cable. I think amazon should have pointed this out to me before I bought it. As for the security it should provide, all you gotta do is unscrew it and guess what- not much better than the cable and lock itself.
Great for desks without anchor holes March 22, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
No surprises with this anchor. It arrived in a plastic OEM bag and was an easy install. No instructions needed.
Just use the 3 included self tapping screws and screw the metal hook plate into your chosen location. A plastic cover is then snapped over the base to cover the screws.
I only gave it 4 stars because the plastic cover looks kind of cheap.
