 Beats buying batteries December 29, 2007
I purchased this charger kit after I had bought the walkie-talkies. The powerpack replaces 4 AAA size batteries but allows you to still use them if needed. the range and clarity is slightly improved with the powerpack, but battery life is slightly less than with quality alkalines. Over all, I rate this product very good. A "no brainer" to use and saves enough to pay for itself. Drop in two radios at a time and in a few hours they're ready to use. My kids love it and I can keep them in line when they go to the park. Hope to try them out in Disney world next summer.

These radios are great but I didn't want to constantly be buying batteries. Use them in the neighborhood to keep track of my almost teenage son. Just don't leave the radio in an article of clothing (in my case, his coat) and wash it. The batteries will have to be replaced if you do. You will find it's cheaper to buy this than just the batteries.

The batteries and one of the two chargers works perfectly--one charger has an LED that will dim and turn out while charging, but it continues to charge the radios...
