Product Description Maxxima introduces the MLS-10 2 LED AC/DC occupancy sensor light which works on 3AA batteries or can be plugged into any standard outlet with its AC/DC option. The MLS-10 has 4 convenient modes which allow you to select if you want it to act as a light that automatically turns itself on when motion is detected by the built in sensor and turns itself off 30 seconds after you leave the area, or it can be set to turn on at night only, be left on at all times, or be shut off completely. When left in the occupancy sensor mode this light will only go on at night when motion is detected, and will only go off once there is no motion left in the area. When left in the night light mode this light will go on whenever there is darkness in its area. This is a perfect item to be kept in a closet, bathroom, stairwell, or any space, which requires lighting, as well it comes in handy during a power failure. With its built in AC/DC option Maxxima now offers even more convenience with their line of Occupancy Sensor Lights.110V Operation Only

over the dark October 7, 2008 I picked one of these up after nearly breaking my legs during a fall on a stairway because of the dark. The hostel I was staying in normally has lights but the rowdy guests broke every bulb in the place. I left this out & it worked for a while until some drunk Germans tore it out. Best thing to do is to carry a mini flashlight in instances like that.
Horrible Product and Customer Service July 14, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We ordered three of these sensor lights to help light a stairway at nighttime. When we received our package, one of the lights did not work at all. Within a month, the second one also quit working. When we called to ask if they would replace them, we were informed that sure they'd replace them, but we would have to pay all shipping fees. They sold us duds but we were still responsible for shipping??? Within 3 months of receipt, the third light quit working as well.
Great Bathroom Light March 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this sensor light because of the ac/dc. I am very happy with this light. It gives just enough light to see where you are going. It is great for those people who get up in the middle of the night and you don't want to turn on a regular light. My husband would flip the regular light on from the bathroom which always woke me up. I am not a happy camper if you wake me from sleeping. Now I don't wake up from this light. I have tried several other types of sensor lights and they didn't have enough light and they turned off and didn't come back on as easily. I did try the night lights and that bothered me because it stayed on all the time. My only complaint is that it does cover both electrical plugs.
Burned out in one month. February 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When I first received 2 of these sensor lights I was most pleased. They have many features, each of which worked well. If I had rated this product initially, I would have given it a 5 star rating. One month has past, with both sensors being used at night only. One sensor still works, but the other already has one LED light completely burned out and the other half as bright as it was just one month ago. In order to replace the LED lights a specialized screw driver is required, for screws that I have not seen anywhere before. Most disappointing.
First rate product December 3, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
First rate product. I've used mine for over a year on both AC and battery. One took a direct hit from a mismounted fire extinguisher, shattering the plastic less. However, the body keeps soldiering on.
This model has both a light sensor and a motion detector. Both need to be triggered for it to work. Nicely, therefore, when you pass it during the day time, it does not go on. Note also that it operates on both AC and battery (3-AA cells) , which gives you a lot of flexility in placement.
Complaints that it covers both outlets are correct. However, if you buy a 1' extension cord, used as an extension for power adapters (sold, for example, at cyberguys and maybe here), you can stand the light on the floor and use the other outlet.
