Great gadget if you have internet January 15, 2008

My daughter got this for Christmas and unfortunately we could not start using it as we did not have internet on our PC at home -- there was nothing on the package to warn us about this. Also, the software that sets up the link to the internet works only with PC -- again the package doesn't warn about this. We did get a link working simply by plugging it into our Mac laptop, so it is now finally working. We use it with iTunes, which the manual says is not possible.
She now loves it and would take it everywhere if we let her. So what if it only holds 100 songs without purchasing another card! For an 8 year old, that is more than enough as she is still into playing the same songs over and over and over again. It may be bigger than regular MP3 players, but still fits into the pocket of her hoodie.
She also received an iDog to use with it, which I would strongly recommend if you are concerned about the effect on your child's hearing of using the earbuds. We will likely switch her to regular headphones which are considered to be much safer.
