Good little no-frills drive...Just in case you were wondering. February 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got two of these enclosures to house a pair of 160GB drives I had lying around, I chose this particular enclosure just because it was black and had no case badging...I'm just strange like that. Basically what you see is what you get, a bare aluminum enclosure with two VERY small screws to release the back panel and attach your drive, a single LED in the rear of the case to indicate power/drive activity and a single, full size USB 2.0 "A" style connector; a driver CD, small screwdriver and cheep plastic carrying pouch are also included. The rear panel has the SATA interface sticking right out of it so you just attach the drive and push it back into the case, there is no controller board to lay the drive on to, so I probably wouldn't want to thrash these cases around too much as the fit is pretty tight. One thing I really like about the case is that it doesn't need two USB ports to work, just the one full size 'A" to "A" style USB cable that comes included. As to how they work, I've been writing data to both drives constantly for over an hour with no errors so they already function better then the $50.00 enclosure they replaced, only time will tell, I'll update this review in a few weeks if I'm feeling ambitious.
