Item was easy to install. Helped a lot when I was taking pictures at the beach, park and disneyland.

5 out of 5 stars LCD Cover for Nikon D50   October 30, 2007

I ordered the cover for my recently purchased Nikon D40x and was impressed with it enough to but two of the covers for the D50 to give to family as gifts. The cover does a nice job of protecting the LCD and if you really don't want to use the Snap-up glare shield you simply slide it off, leaving just the LCD shield in place.

4 out of 5 stars Does the Trick   June 9, 2007

I got this for my Nikon D50. Very easy to attach and I can now throw my camera in a bag and go without worry. It does make viewing pictures a little cramped, but keeps the glare down. I wish I could have found a clear cover similar to the ones used on the higher end SLRs, but no luck. The two side windows click open, and you have to push them both in, hold them down and then close the lid. Annoying, but for the protection it adds to my camera, WELL worth the extra second it takes to close.

4 out of 5 stars works but think ahead   May 12, 2007

This snap on product does a great job of protecting the viewer. The problem is when it is open and you can look at the viewer your eyes may be further away from the viewer than you think. The part that pops up to shade and protect also sticks out and keeps you further from the viewer.

5 out of 5 stars A must buy accessory for the D50   October 11, 2006

If you own a Nikon D50 that probably means that you spent a couple bucks to get the camera, maybe an extra lens, and possible even a gear bag. With all this invested, why not protect one of the most important parts of the camera besides the lenses? This handy little device will keep debris and smears off of your LCD as well as protect it from the occasional bump against something that might otherwise scratch or crack the LCD. When you need to check an image in sunlight, the top and side shutters do a brilliant job of keeping the glare away so that you can delete that bad image or appreciate the awesome shot you just got. I really enjoy this handy little accessory and am suprised it's not part of the camera already. I would highly recommend this to anyone who owns a D50 no matter where you shoot or what type of shots you take.
