awesome - look out for USB overload October 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it. Sound quality is good and the range is fine for walking around in the room. I really don't expect it to walk around the house with it. The price could come down a lot more but I am still happy for the purchase.
My biggest problem was overloading the USB ports on the DELL D620 laptop. With a standard Dell KB and mouse and a USB VOIP device (MagicJack) already plugged in, this headset transmitter drawed power beyond the 500mA limit of the USB hub and killed all of my USB devices. It's not really the headset's fault but sure was annoying to find a solution for. I tried a powered external USB hub - same thing. The solution turned out to be getting a 90W power supply for the DELL docking station to properly power it's USB ports and relocating the USB devices. But in the end, it's working great.
LIKES: - Good sound quality for music at medium volume and excellent quality for conversation at any volume. - Using VOIP, I don't even hear myself. A little strange to get used to, but it's great. - It's NOT Bluetooth and you don't have to deal with pairing. It's simply plug and play. - Wireless freedom is awesome. - When the battery dies because I forget to charge it, I can continue to use it comfortably with the charging cable attached. - Construction feels solid. - The red mute light is helpful.
DISLIKES: - The headband is a bit too small and tight! - Music can clip at higher volume (and I really don't listen to music that loudly). But admittedly this could be the quality of the MP3's themselves? Not sure.
Good for somewhat close use October 6, 2008 When in line of sight of the computer, this headset works great, with clear reception and output. It loses the connection if you go into other rooms, though.
Very unreliable Microphone quality October 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product would be perfect if only I didn't experience the microphone quality dropping to almost zero seemingly at random. When it worked, it worked great, but then every few minutes the microphone would drop into some darth vadar voice sound for a few seconds. Very annoying and not professional sounding. I tried everything to move the cable around to avoid interference, but it still did it. You do not hear this in the headset itself, but your listeners on the other end will hate you as you are constantly breaking up and they are saying "What?" all the time. I tried to record myself to see how it sounded and was shocked to hear how bad I sounded on these $100 headphones.
The incoming sound never did that so they are great for listening to music wirelessly, but I got these for the microphone feature to use with Skype and so far I cannot recommend them for that.
I'm sending these back and will stick with a wired headset for now.
Awesome and yet dissapointed October 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this headset with the dreams of being wireless, but the reality is the battery does not last long enough to complete a 4 hour raid. This was a disappointment, the sound is awesome, the controls are a bit tricky, you have to get used to not muting yourself.
Great Logitech Product September 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This wireless headset is better than the connected usb I have from logitech. The freedom of wireless makes it possible to have a voice chat while performing other tasks. The wireless devices make life much less complicated and I highly recommend it if you DO NOT like clutter.
