GREAT, good working camera! October 6, 2008 PROs: Good quality cameras, versatile angling, sturdy clip to latch onto laptops, the lens can turn to adjust the focus, and comes 2 in a box for a ONE OF A KIND DEAL (price-wise). My parents bought these cameras for me as I was moving out for college and I was REALLY excited to begin using them because my friends had been urging me to buy a web cam. It's a great gadget to keep connected with friends and family. CONs: Compared with my friends built-in web cam on MAC laptops the image isn't as clear and the movements don't pick up as quickly, but it's not a dramatic difference. I don't like MACs so...unless you're going to buy a new laptop with a built-in web cam then you should get these.
Fun talking to a Face October 6, 2008 I have ordered cameras for my entire family and some friends. We love talking to each other "in person" and have so much fun with it. Also a great way to keep in touch with our grandchildren. Great deal!
MSN Live not so easy. Skype great! September 30, 2008 I always find it puzzling how poorly some Microsoft products work with others. We tried to get the LifeCam up and running with MSN Live Messenger version 8.5.1302.1018 and had nothing but problems. Then out of frustration we tried Skype version 3.8.0.154 and everything worked seamlessly. As long as we use Skype instead of Messenger, this is a great product.
Works great, nice price, but that annoying button on top.... September 30, 2008 I bought this for two people in our office, and the cameras work well. They are clear and the microphone performs well. The only issue is when adjusting, it is darn-near impossible NOT to hit that button on top (which launches Windows Live messenger, which we don't use). I've seen a buncb of other people mention the same thing. We use Skype... no issues at all with it.
The price for the 2-pack when we purchased (on Amazon) was great, but I've seen it go up about $10 since then.
So, all-in-all, I would have given a 4.5, which I can't, so since it isn't perfect, I'm giving it 4 stars.
I would definitely recommend to others.
Very pleased with the web cams! September 30, 2008 I wanted a web cam so I could watch my grandson grow up. I love it!
