Product Description Exciting and convenient, the RM-VL600 controls up to 8 components, and with the one-touch system control, synchronizing operational status on remote and alternate components is done with ease. Also a Learning function for programming from other remotes. Being in the driver's seat of your living room sofa is made easy with the RM-VL600 remote control from Sony.

Excellent product September 5, 2008 This Sony Rm-VL600 Universal Learning Remote is the best remote control I've ever used. It works with VCR/DVD player, TV, and Satellite box. Point it at your old remote and turn it on and it learns to do everything the old remote did. It's amazing. It's nice to be able to control everything with one unit too.
Best universal remote September 2, 2008 For $25 you can't beat it. It does everything I wanted it to do and then some without all the expense and complicated software that goes a long with one of those Harmony remotes. Those things are just way overpriced and overcomplicated for the average home theater system in my opinion.
It does a great job of programming most common functionality using the different codes based on the devices you have. Anything additional can be programmed by simply pointing the two remotes together and having the remote "learn" whatever button you want. It also has the ability to program up to 4 macros (A, B, C and D) which are what really make this remote worth the money. I have mine set up to turn everything on/off with one button and then a couple other buttons to switch the inputs for DVD/TV/etc.
This remote has made my life with my home theater system a LOT easier. Definitely well worth the money.
Works well, does all it is supposed to September 2, 2008 I'm very pleased with this purchase. THe remote control unit is a lot cheaper than buying the original equipment remote I needed for my TV (kids sat on it and broke it in two). I've programmed in 4 devices, a DVD Player, VCR, amplifier and TV. Set up was a breeze, and using it is very simple. Good to be able to use one device instead of 4. Only thing I can think of to make it better would to have all the buttons backlit so I could see it better in the dark.
TV Remote August 29, 2008 This was to replace the lost remote for one of our two TB's. Ir is actually more convenient (particularly the mute button) than the one that came with rhe TV.
SONY REMOTE RM-VL600 Works With the Olevia 342i August 29, 2008 The Sony RM-VL600 is a Basic Learning Remote that saved me a ton of time. I had big problems finding a reasonable priced remote to replace 3 others. Now I can control all my electronics which include a Toshiba DVD, RCA Home Theater, DIRECTV HD Receiver, Sharp TV & VHS, and most of all the Olevia 342i that nothing seemed to work for. The setup is basic and learning is easy as point at the old remotes follow the easy steps and all is right with the world. The same goes for copying single buttons. This is not anything fancy but it gets the job done, priced cheap and all I need Looie
