The Sony CDP-CE375 5-disc changer features a carousel tray and play exchange, with a play 1/exchange 4 system. The CDP-CE375 plays both regular CDs and CD-R/RW so you can also listen to your own mixes on your home audio system. The front panel features a 7-segment fluorescent display along with a jog dial with Direct Access track selection. Features include play exchange, repeat play, track scan, and a fade in/fade out function for five seconds of fading time on either end of the track. The CDP-CE375 has a 32-track programmable memory and a peak-level search feature, which scans through the disc for the loudest section to set correct volume levels. The CDP-CE375 has several audio options to connect the CD changer to your home audio system, including two analog outputs (1 RCA and 1 fixed/variable), one digital output, and one headphone jack. I bought this same item used from someone on Ebay and it took 3 weeks to get it and it was in horrible condition and would not play a CD. So, I got smart and ordered a new one from Amazon which arrived in 3 days and I can play all my music again. Thanks, Amazon!
Works perfectly for me September 22, 2008
I bought it a couple of months ago for a good price. I plugged it in, I turned it on. Since then I've been playing CDs with it, with no problems whatsoever. Sometimes I dust it. Sometimes it just sits there quietly. Many times it plays awesome prog rock.
The display is good, the remote is good, and the mechanisms are quiet. The build seems sturdy and (so far) the electronics have been reliable.
This unit replaces a JVC I had; the JVC's buttons were beginning to go. Sound reproduction quality on both units satisfies me - both have 1-bit D/A conversion and 8x oversampling.
So chalk me up as one reviewer whose CDPCE375 works just fine, and I'm happy so far.

I received this as a birthday gift and therefore did not get the chance to read the reviews. WHat a horrible unit! My Ned's Atomic Dustbin CD actually jammed up the unit two times! The first time I thought it was a fluke. The 2nd time I had to take the cover off and the CD was lying off of the carousel in the bottom of the unit. This thing is crap and it's going back tomorrow to Best Buy.
I'm very disappointed with Sony as my last Sony 5 disc player lasted 15 years without any problems!

I was looking for a simple cd player/changer, and this product does what it was meant to do. I have had no problems so far. If you are looking for high end audiophile type player, this is not for you, but if you are looking for a simple good quality cd player, then this product will work well.

Typical Sony high quality, seems to be well made, it is a large unit - I guess to accomodate the CD carousel. Controls are easy to use, remote works well, no problems reading any of my CDs. The only downside would be that the power button must be used on the unit, no power control from the remote. Not a big deal.
Similiar (or maybe identical?) unit at a local major retailer was significantly more expensive than Amazon.
