Amazon.com Product Description Polk Audio's RCi Series in-wall speakers let you deliver sound to every room in your home without sacrificing a single square inch of valuable floor or shelf space, and the RC60i in-wall speakers are no exception. Paint them to match your decor and they practically disappear, leaving you with nothing but high-performance sound. Installation is easy as 1-2-3: cut a single hole, feed the wires through to your receiver or amplifier, and simply drop the speaker in. Rotating cams secure the speakers safely with no extra assembly or mess. A round shape and flush design allows each RC60i to mimic the look of a recessed lighting fixture, providing the ultimate in stealth sound. The pair is durable, too, with moisture-resistant materials that are perfectly safe for use in bathrooms, kitchens, saunas--even under outdoor eaves. Rubber driver surrounds outlast cheap foam surrounds for years of trouble-free performance. Dynamic Balance components and aimable tweeters ensure spacious imaging with stunning clarity and well-balanced sound in any listening position, not just a small "sweet spot." Wide-dispersion design means you'll enjoy even coverage across small and large rooms alike. The speakers use large, 6.5-inch cones for rich, full-bodied sound. Further, their Infinite Baffle tuning uses the virtual enclosure of in-wall space to enhance their bass response. The speakers are timbre-matched to the members of Polk's RTi Series for seamless, enveloping sound when used as part of a home theater. What's in the Box Two speakers, paint masks, and a user's manual.

Polk Audio are the real deal... July 22, 2008 So I have need for in wall speakers in 4 rooms...I go out and buy an inferior brand of speakers for cost savings for 1 room. The room sounded like total crap. I then go and invest in 2 pairs of the RCi60 and 1 pair of the RCi6S and they brought the rooms to life. These speakers have spectacular sound and depth.
They are also very discrete in the wall when you paint them.
All round 5/5...do not hesitate.
Extremely happy with the RC80i and RC60i speakers July 15, 2008 I purchased these last December, 2007 from Amazon and after all these months I have been completely satisfied with the Polk Audio brand. I will agree with the others that the included templates make a tight fit. It is not to much more work to slowly chisel away to get that perfect fit though. I never did anything like this before and I'm completely amazed of the outcome. You can't go wrong with the template, just make sure you go in the attic and clear out any insulation that might fall on you.
This was my setup for the home theater and my wife and I are completely happy with the sound, look, and would purchase Polk Audio again.

Excellent speakers July 12, 2008 I am a big fan of Polk products and always have been. These speakers are no exception. I am using them as rear surround speakers, and they are perfect for the job. The sound is rish and undistorted. Being able to "aim" the tweeter was a nice bonus.
Wonderful Speakers July 5, 2008 We remodeled our kitchen and have these speakers in the wall opposite the work areas. They are the most wonderful part of the new kitchen. Listening to music with great sound makes kitchen work so much more fun. The electrician said they were easy to install, and the sound is great. They can be played loud enough to be heard in other rooms, and there is good bass and no distortion with all types of music. They sound good played quietly too. For the price you just can't go wrong. They sound as if they cost a lot more.
Great speakers for finished basement June 2, 2008 I recently installed a few sets of these Polk speakers into our basement. One set was used in a drywalled-ceiling (in a gym) and another set was used with a drop ceiling (Armstrong 24"x24" Brighton Ceiling Panels, sold at Lowes) in the main room of our basement. The speakers were pretty easy to install in both settings and work well. I have them hooked up to a stereo for music only...no surround sound off of them.
For the drop ceiling, I would recommend these steps for a smooth install: 1) Use the included template to draw the circle on the back (gray) side of the ceiling tile. 2) I used a Dremel cutting tool to cut out the circle. Don't cut on the line, cut on the outside of the line. If you cut on the line exactly, the circle will be a shade too small and won't hold the speaker properly. 3) Once the circle is cut, put the speaker in the hole and use a screwdriver to secure it in place. 4) If you ran more than enough speaker wire, hook it up to the speaker and then put your ceiling tile back into the ceiling grid. All done!
The ceiling tiles do a great job of holding the speaker in place, with no signs of the speaker being too heavy. I didn't see the need to go purchase a special bracket that some of the other reviewers have recommended.
One more tip: at first, I didn't quite follow how the clips on the speaker were supposed to secure it to the ceiling. I kept turning the screws and didn't think I was making any progress. I'd recommend doing a practice run on just one of the clips. Don't put it in the ceiling, but use the screwdriver, and see what moves when you turn the screw. It will help you visualize how the clips work. Basically, there's a lot of turning involved to secure it to the ceiling...so don't give up!
